    How do they do it?

I have never been much of a fan of this brewery. The beer is not of the quality of other microbrews. Years ago I thought I was tasting the same hops in 5 of thier 7 beers. The 7 that came with the sampler anyway. Bruce

    How do they do it?

I recived a tour of a micro brewery some time ago. Thier system is a 7 barrel system and he was brewing 1 batch each of the 5 work days of the week. They only had 3 conicals that I saw and I asked him what he did with his beer since 3 days is not enough time in a fermenter. He told me 3 days...

What is the Weirdest thing you have ever brewed?

I make a potato pale ale often and it turns out just excellent. Very very good. Last batch was 1 pound of russets to one gallon of beer. I made a root beer beer once as a request of my daughter, it did not turn out very good. Could not get it sweet enough. She tried some with a scoop of ice...

    Hello from Western Michigan!

Welcome. And I thought Holland was the dutch capital for MI. I grew up in Holland and now live in GR, just a few miles north of you. Have you checked out Siciliano's for your supplies? They are top notch. Bruce

    Party Star mini keg tap

Has anyone ever used one of these? I purchased one of these and am not happy with it at all. I bought a mini keg of beer to use it on and so I could reuse the empty. The first one the 16g CO2 would leak out within 5 minutes. I returned it to the store and they gave me another one with some...

    worst beer you ever made

My worst beer was about 4 years ago. My daughter asked me to make a root beer flavored beer. So I used a bottle of root beer extract, used to make 4 gallons of root beer. I knew getting it sweet enough would be hard since the yeast would want to eat the sugars. I used lots of carmelized...

    Mini keg carbination

My first thought was wow that is so little sugar. But once I did the math I see that it is not. For 5 gal. I use 3/4 cup of sugar. AT the rate of 1.5 Tablespoon per mini keg X4 to equal 5 gal. that comes out to 3/8 cup which is 50% and I had read go 60% so that is very close. Well I did them...

    Mini keg carbination

Hello, I have read recently that if you want to put your brew into mini kegs that you should use only 60% of the priming sugar you normally use. Is this right? Also some of my mini kegs will be used as gravity dispensed and some will have CO2 used on them. Will both of these get the same...

    Hello from SW MI

Hello, My name is Bruce. I have been a AG brewer for about 6 years. My first batch ever was a Red ale from a boxed kit and I went to AG for my 2nd batch. I learned a few lessons the hard way but have brewed many great beers. I have also added many different things to my beer, some with...
