    DIY Stirplate

Sounds to me like your fan took a dive. When you rebuild it try to space the magnets farther from the fan with a piece of PVC. Also build it with a stronger fan should help carry the extra mass.

    Black Pug Coconut Porter...

Thanks for the recipe! I made this a few months ago and it turned out very good. I bought a fresh coconut, split it and cut it in to half inch chunks and threw it in the smoker. My LHBS did not have the White Labs in stock so I went with an equivalent smack pack. The beer turned out great...

How to attach wort chiller to all in one faucet?

Yes, however I would use the threaded three way.

Flow Sensors for beer tap monitor

If you just want to see how much has been poured, I would measure by weight like these guys. http://www.sparkfun.com/tutorials/144

    Interesting idea

you just need to let it sit for several days on 30#s it will get more and more carbonated. Its not too much pressure that is causing the foam, it's that the gas is not fully mixed in the liquid yet.

    Interesting idea

I have done both soda and soda water. I always have one on tap with my beers. I keep their reg set to about 30 or what ever you like for that drink. After about a week it is fully carbed and great.

    shank hole size too big?

I used a spade bit on my kegerator. It cut through the metal and insulation just fine. I had the vacuum sucking the foam out of the door to help clear the waste. I did cut from both sides and its very clean hole.

    Another fermentation chamber :)

These are more expensive than the light bulb in a can but are non light heating coils for reptiles. They work great for larger spaces or with a temp controller.

    Fuzzy white bugs

+1 on the ladybugs. They are cheap organic and its truly amazing how many aphids they eat.

    Damn hydrometer!

Honestly, you should get one next time you get a batch or are near the store. However, it is not necessary to make tasty beer. I have brewed probably ~50 batches of AG and Extract without one when they were broken, missing, or I was too drunk and forgot to take readings and I have enjoyed the...

This is how i reduced my headspace in my masttun

I guess I dont get the point. I usually only lose about 1 degree during my mash. I would also be very worried about the plastic tape and the hot water.

    Official Broken Hydrometer Count

579.. Went to put it in its protective tube and it fell on the counter. My first one and have had it since '98.

faucet shank with or without nipple/tailpiece

I have both and the only difference is I had to buy more parts (new nut after drunk friend striped it, and new washers) for the one with the nut. I figure if the barb on the welded one breaks I can add a nut later.

    Measuring stick

I just put some notches in my spoon. Works great for me.

    Buying cheap drip trays...

You can.. but people forget or don't notice. I had the same problem with the freezer. I screwed on a bracket to the bottom of the freezer door that over hangs the fridg door. I can open the fridge door without opening the freezer but if I open the freezer it pulls the fridge open too. :mug:

    need ferment room heater help

From going stagnant or growing stuff. The h2o2 keeps the water from smelling or turning to stagnant dirty water.

What can I make in a rush?

I have had kegs of pale ales gone in 3 weeks from brew many times. Just make them extra hoppy and use a starter and you will be fine.

    Corriander seeds

I have used 1 oz of crushed in a 5 gallon batch and it was fine. I would not use 2oz.

    need ferment room heater help

Do you really need to heat the whole room? I have a large rubbermaid tub filled with water and my carboys and an aquarium heater. Keeps them all at the same temp with no problems. I added some hydrogen peroxide to keep the water from going.
