    That is unless you happen to be dealing the flared type gas connectors in that case the tape can cause an improper seal and leak.

    Also the lux has a remote thermo probe already on a short wire, you should only need to extend the prob into the freezer.

    I don't have one yet but the lux also has a temp offset setting of up to 5 degrees, so I would think you could offset 45 to 50 and get it to go down to an actual temp of 40 which is just about right.
