    Kegging Hard Root Beer

Can you post your 3 gallon recipe and how you will be doing it when using a keg instead of bottle? I am really interested in trying it this week and out of all the recipes for Hard Root Beer on the Internet yours seems to be the best.

    Killing yeast

This worked for me when making an all natural Cider: After primary fermentation and some secondary aging I cold crashed my 4 gallon Cider that was around 1.000. I added apple juice frozen concentrate (thawed) until I got up to 1.012 which took two cans (made the cider perfectly semi-sweet). I...

    Perlick Faucet Problem

Do not buy these Perlick faucets unless you know they fit your shank. I sent in both my faucets after speaking to one of their head guys who claimed that their faucets should fit any and all beer shanks and it must be a manufacturing defect. I sent them in and after they tested them they states...

Looking for Founders Breakfast Stout - Willing to Trade

Yes you can. I live in Denison, Tx and have got it before. It is distributed by Ben E. Keith Company. So just give them a call and see who is stocking it. Although I didn't think any Dogfish Head 120 minute IPA was put on the shelves this year

The Extract "twang" - what is it?

I've been brewing extract for 3 years now. Some of my brews do have the extract twang but I have just tried two different beers that did initially have the twang but after a couple months after kegging/bottling it was gone. So don't give up. Put it in the cellar and try it again later

    Bottle washing tips

The easiest way I have found is to fill your primary bottling bucket with 6 gallons mix of Star San cleaner hook up your bottling wand and fill all of your bottles. Let sit for about 15 min. Wash out with cold water. Sling water out of bottle.

I tried swapping out the o-rings but it still didn't help get a seal. Looks like I might have to buy some more shanks. Bummer

    Perlick Faucet Problem

Thanks for the post. I haven't even tried to mess with the Perlick faucet due to haveing 2 homebrews currently on tap. It sounds like you found the best way. If you could email me at [email protected] with more detailed instructions on what you did I would very much like that.

    Perlick Faucet Problem

Yes The rubber washer is in perfect condition and the faucets are brand new. I have tried using lube on the threads and everything but looking through the holes you can see that there is not a complete seal from the faucet to the shank.
