    Anyone ever use Whitelabs 051 California Ale V?

    I have used California Ale White Labs 051 quite a few times with very nice results. It is great with a mild hops like Fuggle. I am using it again now for a couple of batches of ale.

    priming sugar emergency!

    You should use less priming sugar if you don't have the full 5 gallons. Use 1/5th less approximately. Too much sugar can cause the yeast to get too happy in the bottles and the bottles to explode (very unlikely but possible).

    I have had great luck using the left over yeast from one batch to make the next. I just bottle and then add the new wort to the carboy without cleaning it out. Question: Has anyone done this multiple times, using the same yeast at the bottom of the carboy over and over? I have only dared...
