    Thanks to everyone on the comments. Generally, what hop additions would you go for with a beer of this magnitude? I dont want it to have the overly aggressive hop flavor but I want it to be a clean balanced one.

    Ha! I will be ordering my second and third batches tomm. Want to go with a wit and an altbier. I am on the fence with the alt because I dont think I can get the lower temp for my secondary stage. I will prob go for it anyway. Good to see a lot of locals!

    My first batch - simcoe IPA

    Hey guys, I brewed my first batch - a simcoe IPA kit from midwest supplies. I brewed 5.5 gal in a 8 gal pot outside My target SG was 1.065, however my actual SG was 1.053. I am chalking this up to the fact that I had to top off almost 1 gal of water and I may not have mixed it up well...
