    Biofine

    I just got some Biofine by Crosby & Baker. It says to add 1/4 tsp to 2 oz cold water and let it sit for 20 min. I don't wanna risk infection, so can I just add it to the carboy without hydrating it?

    Using a nitrogen regulator on a CO2 tank

    Can you use a regulator used for Nitrogen on a CO2 tank? Or a CO2 regulator on a helium tank?

    Flemish Red became a Flemish Brown!?!?

    I made a flemish red ale but did not use bacteria to produce the sour characteristic so I added 1 tbsp of lactic acid to the carboy. The beer went from CRYSTAL clear red to dark brown. Tastes great but I'd like to know what happened for future reference.

    What style of beer is this?

    Could be some crazy extract version of a black barleywine or old ale. Most likely an old ale. I agree though, the bittering hop was omitted. Probably doesnt have a defined style, it is what it is.

    Kegging Questions

    1) Do I NEED a CO2 tank for my corny keg? 2) Will the beer naturally carbonate in my keg? 3) If so, how long should it take to carbonate? 4) How long would the keg be good for? 5) Will there be any issues with dispensing the beer? Thanks, I'm new to this.
