Can you elaborate a little more on this? Is there an adapter available that accomplishes this or would it have to be made? I'm interested in the foundry and 240v, but have little to no electrical knowledge/skill and am intimidated by the prospect of doing it myself.

I was thinking this same thing earlier today. I want to do my regular Hefe recipe and just add pumpkins in the mash for an original take on a pumpkin beer. Seems like a good idea but I've never heard of anyone doing it.

I have been wondering the same thing. I've been brewing for a few years and have been using the "shake the fermentor" method. I've thought about trying a stone, but I'm unsure of the advantages since I've never had a problem with my method.

I have used panty hose before and never had any problems. Just boil them for a few minutes first.

+1 on this design! I used this build on a 50 ft chiller and have been very happy with it.

Check craigslist for kettles. I picked up a 15 gallon Polarware w/thermometer for $75 and I have been very happy with it, though if I had a choice I would definitely buy a 15 gallon.

How long has it been in there? I have left a batch in the primary for almost two months before that turned out fine, give it a try.
