Hi, Im new to growing hops. I live in wisconsin, My question is, is it crazy to plant hops now to go through winter and start growing in spring? Just wondering if anyone has tried this with sucess. Thanks
Hello Rex personaly i would start with your frementing temp. I just brought two party tubs i plan to use for fermenting with some water and bottled water thats frozen. i got them at walmart for 4 bucks each.
Hello, My siphon takes a while also. The higher you can get the secondary up the better it goes. I also just toss the remainder of the brew under the spigot too the beer gods. The sour taste is probably because the beer is still young. Let it bottle condition for at least 3-4 weeks.
Hello, and welcome.
1. That should be fine as long as its covered. Transfer into the carboy after a week or two (two if your like me, busy) and wash the HELL outta that bottling bucket/ fermenter. Spigot and all take it apart.
2.if theres a substantial amount you put to much water in. Only...
The Brown came out great, the wit and red I undercarbed, the wit the worst with almost no carb. Red is good but slightly on the strong side. Is ok though. :)
Just wondering if any of you Milwaukee AGers add anything too your tap water. If you dont use tap what bottled water do you use and do you add anything too that? Im going AG soon Thanks. :ban:
BUMB UPDATE The brew has gone form watery to plad. j/k It is way less watery. Let this be a lesson to the novice. Time does heal all wounds, and also makes your brew the yum. :ban: :rockin:
