    Belgian Tripel Recipe?

Great suggestion . Sometimes simpler is better and easier to identify flavors in final product, maybe I'll scale back the adjuncts. I do have some Belgium aromatic, special b and caramel 40, I could use anyone of these based on suggestion. I will report back on final recipe and results. I...

    Belgian Tripel Recipe?

Thanks for the opinion. I saw this in a few others but questioned it. Any other suggestions for the grain bill?

    Belgian Tripel Recipe?

Okay I'm branching out from IPA's Russian Imperials, British Bitters, and trying a Belgian tripel for the first time. I'm using ingredients on hand and a few adjuncts I picked up. Here is my recipe. Any thoughts? Too much candi sugar and when should I add it? Bitter or sweet orange peel...

    Pitched 2 yeasts?

Hey Calder, I make a 2000ml starter from 1 yeast packet then usually split them into 3 jars. In a lower SG beer (<1.065) I pitch 2 then save the third to propagete for future use. In larger beer I will take 2 and build them up a little more. Doing this I usually have several strain in in the...

    Ringwood help?

Could be. The pack and starter had VERY strong aroma of butter/butterscotch. So much so I wondered how could this taste good in beer.

    Ringwood help?

I use a Sta San solution as I have in the past without problems. I wish I could say it smelled like butter or butterscotch but that would be a stretch.

    Ringwood help?

Please help! I brewed a Dogfishhead 60 minute clone 4 days ago using my standard all grain, batch sparge method. The recipe called for Ringwood yeast strain (never used before) which I made a starter for 3 days earlier. I followed all of my standard sanitary precautions. I went to check SG today...
