    1st time Gelatin Questions

Found a lot of info regarding gelatin but I have a few questions of my own that were not addressed online (I think?) So I bought some gelatin, unflavored knox. added some cold water let it reydrate, then added hot water 160f and let it sit for about 15 minutes. I then dumped it into my...

Popped open Primary for gravity Ready

Appreciate the quick response. My F.G. was calculated at 1.014. The entire fermentation took place between 60-65F. So definitly on the low side. I had heard something about a hot mash effecting the attenuation so that could have been the problem.

Popped open Primary for gravity Ready

Will it really continue to Ferment at such a slow pace? if so that is cool I just would have never assumed it would. Would I do myself any good transfering the beer to a secondary to shake up the yeast and placing the secondary in room temperature? I put dry hops in a few days back so I...

Popped open Primary for gravity Ready

If I decide to bottle is there anything I can do to reduce the risk of bombs then? I just put in dry hops so I cant let this batch sit forever while I wait for it to ferment again.

Popped open Primary for gravity Ready

Brewed my first partial mash on Dec 16th. An IPA, so after a decent time in primary I took a gravity reading of 1.020. OG was 1.050. I have never had a beer stall here before and its also my first partial mash. Primary was in basement which is 60-65 f temperature. These was the recipe...

It Needs To Be Tossed.....Just Say It.

Some people just cant let go, at best your beer will probably only be slightly drinkable after many many months, I personally would throw away my beer to make space to brew new, really awesome beer but if you have the space and bottles, I guess it cant hurt to hold on. Ive dumped 10gal before

    Safale s-04

I know airlock activity doesnt mean anything, but i use the same equip everytime and its fairly new so there are alot of typical things that happen and this isnt lol. I guess there is no answer to this question really, Im thinking its done but im not gonna open her up for a while.

    Safale s-04

Brewed a PM IPA on the 16th, and it didnt get into the bucket untill about 10pm. I pitched one pack of safale s-04 (first time using it) into 70F wort. The next day, the 17th, it was bubbling like crazy in my basement of 65f. All of my beers have a quick start to fermentations. The weird...
