    coopers kit, beer is flat!?

I mixed the liquid concentrate, and the dextrose in about a gallon of boiling water...topped off with cool water., let ferment for 7 days at about 22-24C, then bottled. I think the problem is that since bottling, the weather has changed and the room temp has been below the recommended...

    Another Cooper's question... IPA kit

well crap!....this is getting worse. It was a dry malt extract and I didn't boil it at all. I just dissolved it in about a gallon of boiling water along with the dextrose..

    Another Cooper's question... IPA kit

Thanks,...I figured it would be ok but I wanted to ask. JGB, no it wasn't too hot when I pitched. It was at the top end, for sure(28C). I put an LSU hoodie over the fermenter to help it hold its warmth and it is staying at 26C so far. Still percolating like mad. Man, I can't wait!!! I hope...

    Another Cooper's question... IPA kit

Not sure if I messed up or not, but I have a Coopers kit, I bought their IPA kit which came with the concentrate, dextrose, and malt. Being a friggin' n00b, I just mixed all the ingredients(in the boiling water as directed) and pitched my yeast. I got action almost immediately...I mean within 30...

    coopers kit, beer is flat!?

Thank you all for the replies. btw, it's not just that there is no head....it is actually flat on the tongue. I even swished a mouthful around in my mouth to see if it would bubble up, but it did very little. I'm just gonna sit on 'em another week or two..

    coopers kit, beer is flat!?

thanks for the replies!... I guess I really have no choice but to wait and see what happens. When I started the brew, the weather was consistently cold outside , so the heat in the house was always on....thus, it was easy to regulate the temp where the brew was. Since then, we have one day of...

    coopers kit, beer is flat!?

I brewed the kit that came with my microbrewery. Followed all directions...all went as expected. OG 1048....FG 1010... Bottled with 2 "carbonation drops" per bottle(750 ml)...waited 14 days as directed......and beer is flat...very little head... disappears quickly.. The beer has a decent...

Fermentation can take 24 to 72 hrs to show visible signs.

Thanks for the response, LB. I thinks you're right. I don't really need an FG until I get ready to bottle anyway, so I'll just wait and do it then, just to be on the safe side. Oh, my kit came with priming sugar in individual drops that go in the bottles. So I can bottle straight out of the...

    Hello from Louisiana!!

Hello all! I just got my first brew going yesterday. It's the Lager that comes with the Cooper's MB kit. The more I read, the more I feel like my kit is cheating. Hopefully I'll get some tasty brew out of it anyway!

Hello, people. This is my first post here. Lots of great info. I sat here the other day and read the first 25 pages from this thread while anxiously awaiting my Cooper's kit. Anyway, it showed up yesterday and I wasted no time getting my first brew up and going. I'm right at 25 hours into...
