    Noob Electrical Question 240v

just always remember you have a live wire when your using 240 and breaking only one side. you can always use a 2 pole contactor too, just as a rule i treat all voltages the same even when half the 120 side is neutral. and why run the extra amperage with the 120 stuff, i would keep it all...

    Anti-Freeze for Cooling?

Glycol is fine too. Its what i put in commercial accounts that have beer in back and taps up front. The thing with refrigeration, thats what your doing with cooling and heating the liquid, is make sure it stays long enough in the cold to pull the heat out and long enough in the handle area to...

    Plate chiller running R-134a coolant

Its just a condensing unit hooked to a flooded coil (the chiller), I thought they would use a capillary tube like whats in a freezer compared to an expansion valve. Ive thought about running co2 through a chiller to see what temps it would get down to. (please dont do this inside)

So I made a video for the national homebrew day

http://www.homebrewersassociation.org/pages/events/national-homebrew-day I guess the homebrew makes reading this page a little confusing. But looking now I guess its pretty clear. I just think its a little weird celebrating a day on a different day. I mean its ok for birthdays and all. But...

Growing Hops in Containers - New York, any tips

im in a similar situation, i just used a 27gallon heavy duty tote from home depot, using the lid as the base, i drilled the thing out all over the bottom for draining, and put a rhizome in, and its popped up just yesterday, planted about a week ago. Cascade hop. Im thinking of just getting a...

    Banjo Burner-Waste of Gas/Money?

its just gotta be an adjustment. I use the smaller one from an sq14 and have no problem boiling from 150 to 212 rolling in maybe 10-15 minutes. Never really measured it. I find its helpful to adjust the flame when its dark out so i can see it clearly. My first night i had it, I musta had it...

Process: Cooling the Wort --> Primary

They can cool very quick, and they have the ability to chill the entire wort down all at once vs a plate chiller that some wort is still sitting in the pot for a few minutes at less than ideal temps. Here is good info on a chiller http://www.mrmalty.com/chiller.php of course getting the...

Process: Cooling the Wort --> Primary

I believe you can reduce dms by chilling quicker, and getting that wort to pitching temp quicker is always the best option. I always like to change the easy stuff in my brewing so i can mess up the harder stuff and still end up ok.
  19. After hearing how great this design is i decided to upgrade my chiller i built by adding a secondary coil in the middle and the 1/2 tube for hooking to a pump for the whirlpool.
