    Making a 150gpd RO system quick-connect/portable?

Has anyone gotten a fairly fast RO system and stuffed it into a bucket or some kind of container and made it easy to hook up a RV hose and run the output right into the HLT/MLT to prep for a brew day? I usually have a solid hour or 2 (or more) of real prep, and a 150gpd RO system from Buckeye...

Looking for a faucet cover/fruit fly cover for a stout faucet

I've got a micromatic stainless stout faucet, and I was wondering if anybody's had success making or finding a commercially available faucet cover. I use the cap-a-tap rubbery plastic type for my other faucets and love them, but I hate to leave the stout faucet sitting open to the air. If all...

Keeping kegged fresh sparking cider from fermenting?

I've got a bunch of cider and apfelwein going this year, but I've also got 3 leftover gallons of fresh cider in a keg that I'm intending on keeping unfermented, but force carbonating. My only worry is that even in a 36-40 degree keg under co2, it might still slowly spoil/ferment/potentially...

    Love TS-61 probe waterproof?

I'm using a TS2 for my fermenting fridge currently, but I'd like to use it for a few other things. It's handy having a controller sitting around that's not in constant use like the one on my kegerator. Is the TS-61 probe waterproof/submersible?

The Neverending Single tier electric brewstand build

So, I make what amounts to an amalgamation of a lot of the brewstand builds I really like on this forum. The only thing I really liked that I'm not doing is the built in tipping frames (which is brilliant). So, original Sketchup drawings: and this, which was my original plan for the burner...

RIMS tube running a DIY water jacket?

Has anybody tried doing something like an (stay with me here) external coil around the mashtun and then insulated and heated with a RIMS tube? It strikes me as a considerably less messy way to keep a mash heated perfectly without the minor problem of overheating wort that little tiny bit inside...

What wacky thing is growing in this blowoff bucket?

I racked one of my pale ales recently and discovered something weird in the jug I was using for the blowoff. I used plain water for the blowoff because I was being lazy. It GREW SOMETHING PURPLE. :drunk: The beer isn't infected, but whatever is in there is pretty weird. It's...

Anybody ever tried de-carbing and repitching yeast?

I've got a Bitter I brewed a while ago. It's about 5 weeks old and it's got big acetaldehyde problems. I've considered letting it sit a while longer, but the beer didn't finish well anyway. It was at 1.020 when I racked it from the primary into the keg after 14 days. Could I rack it back into...

Stirring up a White Labs vial

I've got a vial of still viable White Labs WLP023 (burton ale), and it's extremely stuck to the bottom of the vial. No amount of ridiculous shaking has gotten it to come up off the bottom of the vial. Do I buy a new vial, or as I'm about to pitch to my starter, should I just use a stick (like...
