I'm preparing to make a batch of Vanilla Carmel Cream Ale and the recipe calls for Caramel 60. I have Crystal 60, is there a huge difference in flavor? or is it just a color difference? I'm using 1Lb as a steeping grain.

This is what I came up with after my flimsy metal beer shelf collapsed. I like to keep my beers up off the floor because it's warmer by a few deg and on the floor they only get to about 61F. How's this look? Better?

I transferred my IPA to secondary about two weeks ago and it read 1.020 then. I went to keg it today with some priming sugar and the reading is still 1.020. I racked it onto the priming sugar anyway, it'll be in a keg so no risk of bottle bombs. Will it finish up OK in the keg?

I picked up a few bottles of spring water for brewing and found that the 3 gallon bottles at Lowes are #1 PET and they have the raised bottom like a better bottle! No five gallons though... Dig it!

Ok, this has been bugging me. If my Pale Ale requires 12-14 PSI to force carb over a period of two weeks, what happens when I drop the regulator to around 5-6 PSI to serve? Will my beer eventually lose carbonation? I don't have to keep my beer at the higher pressure & bleed off every time right?

I have a Brewer's Best Irish Stout kit and was wondering how many people have brewed this kit without using the malto dextrin. Would leaving it out just make a lighter bodied beer?
