    New Alternative Keg System

Schaefer kegs are the best and they don't mind selling to home brewers. I use keggys at home and they are way better than corny kegs. Certainly more professional but you need to know how to proerly clean and sanitize to use them as they do not disassemble easily...corny kegs are good as yeast...

    Scaling recipes up or down........

To scale from 5G pilot to 1BBL, scale up proportionately them cut hops by 10%...then fine tune but you will be close.

    JFK's HERMS Project

Sooooo.....paypal + vendor = devil + soul? Fwiw, I have never had an issue with them in the many years I have been using them. And I prefer HERMS to RIMS.

    Low Calorie Homebrew?

Beer:Health and Nutrition Charlie Bamforth ISBN:978-0632064465 All you will ever need or want to know. I leave a copy of this book on my desk and whenever the teetotallers roll up to preach temperance I simply slide it toward them....works like a talisman. When I get to Davis in June I'm...

    A new Beer machine idea

    Low Calorie Homebrew?

Go to the pharmacy section of any grocery store...you can get tablets or, as i prefer, drops. Expect to spend $8-$15

    Low Calorie Homebrew?

No one has so far mentioned the usually super high carbonation of the low cal beers...we have a beer up here from called 67 (guess how many calories/bottle) and it is really highly carbonated...three volumes at least. It looks like weak tea and there is no discernable hop aroma and little head...

Beer Line Length and Pressure Calculator

And Canadians too! Other than bar of course...psi rules here...and kilopascals are generally ignored too.

    15 gallon plastic conical design...

Absolutely...I use star san for day-to-day....but I like to tear the whole thing down and really clean everything at least once a year too...but that's just me.

Mini-Brew Plastic Conical Fermenters (6.5 Gallon)

The canadian supplier is in Burlington, Ontario and charges $222 FOB with an integral stand...the lid is threaded and should be simple to seal if you can locate or make a 12" sealing ring.

    Electric brewery contol box schematic

I have always used a MOC3032 driver and a properly heat-sinked triac with a snubber for switching 120 and 240...been using that circuit for YEARS to turn on well pumps for a cistern recovery system I build. I actually only started using SSRs for < 40A when I found decent models cheap from China.

    15 gallon plastic conical design...

Yep...that's the one! Savin' $$$ or not, I still prefer stainless. I am not a complete SS head though...I also like PVC...you can run it through the dishwasher periodically without the better half blowing a gasket..."I mean, it's not like I'm degreasing a bloody engine here honey, it's just a...

Mini-Brew Plastic Conical Fermenters (6.5 Gallon)

Sweet! Thanks eh! (Just for the record, I never actually say 'eh'...but I do own a toque.)

    15 gallon plastic conical design...

This looks very promising...I like it...a quick note on brass connectors...which I tend to avoid...John Palmer notes a very simple technique in his book for treating brass which should be followed if you are going to use a lot of brass coz it's cheap. Check online or in the appendix B.

    Ever use a BTC-9090?

    1. Sure Electronics - cheap thermocouple probes, PID controllers and SSRs. Don't tell anyone! They are in China but ship quick and relatively cheap considering the savings you get on the probes. I just bought 12 J type probes and 6 DS1820 probes and 6 40A SSRs last week. I designed my own PID...

    Electric brewery contol box schematic

Crydom makes high current SSRs that do not require a separate heat sink to run at 40A.

    Ever use a BTC-9090?

You need an external SSR to use this. Just making sure you knew that.

    Genesee Brewing Co. keg

SS is heavier than aluminum...should be easy to tell by sight too..bring a scotchbright pad and shine it up...I would bet that it's SS though.
