New Epic Series Also, crazy story A fellow brewer and i went to a local grower to get fresh hops. It was raining and on the way back and we ended up skidding on the pavement (later investigation showed there was some kind of paste/plaster on the road). We took the ditch and must of done...

    Simple labels.

Just a quick observation. The placement of "Melanie and Anthony " and "bottled" aren't align the same in the apfelwein as the other two. Other than that, pretty slick looking!

Blame the font for that one! As I posted earlier in the thread, I blatantly stole the dial from Big Rock Brewery (they use a rooster). It has dawned on me now that I could actually do something original and use a diagram of a turtle and use the shell sections in the same way. I'll have to...

Thanks. I enjoyed viewing your labels as well. Although we might become bitter enemies, both having turtle mascots :)

    Latest Lazy Turtle Brewery

Well, it's been a while since my last brew (damn summer and other hobbies!) Still going strong on the epic series. I'll have to eventually stop when I can't find anymore "epic" pictures. Enjoy

    Black Shirt Mock up Label

I like it. Simple, but nicely stylized. If you're looking for a few options, I'd suggest maybe have the ABV and date somewhere separate(maybe underneath) , leaving only the name in the white border. I find it just a bit big. Also, maybe giving the white border a bit more rough edges(let the...

Newest one. I stayed with the same theme as previously.

Well said! I have to admit though, this is pretty epic as well

Thanks guys! I'll eventually have to settle on a general theme, but it's always fun to just be creative on GIMP. Now I would need to top this for my next epic series label. But how do you top a flamethrower wielding cowboy on a t-rex?

Ok, So I might have way too much time on my hands. Anyways, here's my latest. I'm trying a bit of a different style here. Cheers

Thanks for the input. I definitely should of spent more time of the coffee beans to remove the white between them. That definitely would of helped the text pop. I was also thinking of having two smaller text sections on each side rather than a long one, so say each paragraph would be on the...

Thanks, but I cannot claim the beer dial as my own. It actually comes from an Alberta-based brewery named Big Rock. I just saw it on one of their cans and blatantly stole it. I suppose it would become a problem if I ever go commercial :mug: Which label is making your head hurt?

Here are some new additions! Again, criticism is very welcomed.

Cool thanks for the input! My original idea was to get the text to look burnt on. Yeah, I does make it harder to read though. I'd have to try maybe a different wood since it might be too dark.

New Lazy Brewing Turtle Logos! Starting to get a hing of GIMP now. Let me know what you think!

    Fist series of new labels

Thanks guys! I definitely was leaning towards the cartoon turtle. The other one on the lumberjack was just another idea. I've had a pet turtle for over 20 years now, so I felt it appropriate to name me "brewery" after her.

    Fist series of new labels

Playing around with GIMP. Let me know what you think

    All Grain Pilot Home Brewing

I do small 2 gal. batches all the time. I've moved on to a H-M cooler mash tun recently, but I used to do it all stovetop (method I got from this forum by contributor Death). I'd usually get around 60% eff. though, hence the change to the mashtun(closer to 80% eff). I like brewing in small...

    Malt Wheat Milling

I made myself a batch of Wheat Beer yesterday for the first time. I grinded my grain in my homemade grinder I just finished. I copped out and didn't make it adjustable. Now my problem is my OG came out mush lower that I anticipated. I think that since malted wheat is much smaller, I would...

    Grain mill roller question

Thanks for the pics. I've been thinking of having them geared but I am pretty amateur at machining. I got a small set (picked up scrap metal around the shop) done with some horizontal knurling. Looks like that gives them really good bite. I might consider adding sprockets to the shaft to...
