    Alternative Beer Packaging

Mission Brewery in San Diego sells some bag in a box "growlers". The boxes are usefull since they can be used for tailgating in the parking lot adjacent to the brewery. I am not sure if they can be refilled though but its a cool idea none the less.

Did i make my keggle look worse?

Wow this is great. I agree. Before this I was also tempted to say to say the keggle isn't that bad, but that dress DOES makes you look fat. Keggle shinyness shouldn't be a brewers insecurity.

Did i make my keggle look worse?

I haven't ever used gator pads but wetsand sheets are pretty cheap and you can get a cheap polish for around 3 dollars. That should do the job just as well, its only kegs its not car paint.

    My First Brutus

without the two pumps you either have to batch sparge, or you can run off your first runnings into a lower smaller pot or bucket using gravity. Both are easy enough but not as cool as two pumps.

    Stirplate w/ 3speed fan

It took me a little while but I centered it. I actually used spray adhesive on the magnet, let it dry, then centered it and adjusted it. The spray adhesive actually works really well and will let you move it ever so slightly or even peel it off and re-stick. It has held up well and the magnet...

    Stirplate w/ 3speed fan

I also bought one of these off amazon in the 120mm for another stir plate. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f11/building-stir-plate-check-out-usb-adjustable-computer-fan-253254/ It is a little more expensive but it has an awesome looking knob which I plan on mounting on the edge of my plexi. I...

    Stirplate w/ 3speed fan

Sorry, I didn't notice the questions. Anyhow, the magnet is off of a old PC Hard drive. Which works out well with the 1" stir bar and you get two magnets with each drive so you can have a "keeper magnet" so you don't pitch your stir bar. The magnets are very strong, in fact I had to move my...

full mash sour - how to keep temps up

I use a 5 gal pot with a heating pad underneath and a blanket over the whole thing for insulation. My heating pad has multiple settings and I can usually do a pretty good job at keeping the temps consistent.

Has anyone read "Brewing Better Beer: Master Lessons for Advanced Homebrewers"?

I just read this book and thought it was pretty good. Although it is not super technical ,l it is full of useful information and good insight into one home brewer's award winning processes. The book is very easy to read as well as entertaining. I don't consider myself very advanced for an all...

    Stirplate w/ 3speed fan

Pics up! The speeds on the fan at 12v are 1200rpm, 1600rmp, 2000rpm. Obviously at the lower voltages it goes alot slower. Im not sure if you can calculate the speed from that but you can easily make a close guess. If you have a ~7v converter that voltage seems about perfect. Then you have a...
