New Brewer - No Fermentation After 5 Days. What to do?

Check out the sticky : Fermentation can take 24 to 72 hrs to show visible signs. Also it doesn't matter if the airlock is bubbling or not, it sounds like your gravity is changing so the fermentation is going on.

Help me identify the cause of my off-flavor

You left out how long they were in the primary ... Did you do a secondary? Also how long where they in the bottle conditioning? I'm thinking you just need to give it more time ... If you just poured the priming solution after boiling, this could be a problem too.

    Palm Springs to Stone Brewing

I've been to Stone Brewery and definitely you wanna head to Lost Abbey/Port Brewing. They took over Stone's old location in San Marcos ... Its probably about 2 1/2 miles away from Stone, but its worth the short trip.

Can I make a wort chiller with no tools?

I went to home depot, bought 20 ft of Refrigerator copper, and some rubber tubing, some clamps and then found a faucet adapter ... The only time I needed a tool was a flat head screwdriver that I used when tightening the clamps. Bend the copper around something, like a smaller pot or a corny keg.
