Assistance with Potomac River Water Test Results

So I bought a Lamott lab kit and tested my water here in Shepherdstown, WV right on the Potomac river. The results are below and I'm curious if anything stands out and how accurate they look if anyone knows. Next step is to figure out how to get these values in Bru'n Water. Chloride = 40ppm...

West Virginia Selling two Stout 7.3 gal fermenters

I actually threw the thermometers away on all three conicals because they weren't even close to being accurate. I ended up using a Ranco controller through the thermowell. Looks like shipping to Madison Heights is about $40. Let me know if your still interested.

West Virginia Selling two Stout 7.3 gal fermenters

It looks exactly the same. I'll post new pics in the morning of the one left. The thermometers in both of them were pretty much worthless (15 to 22 degrees off) from the beginning and I ended up using a Ranco controller probe in the thermowell instead of the thermometer. There's a dump valve on...

Transferring from one bottle to another

It's tricky, but it can be done. Gordon Strong talked about this in his book as well on the Brewing Network and Beersmith podcast. Get your bottled beer as close to 32 degrees as possible to start with. Get a 1 liter plastic bottle (I use the club soda bottles) and you'll also need a carbonator...

3 Tier Brew Stand for Sale

A March or Chugger pump is about 149.00, I'll give away the coolers with the false bottom and copper heat exchanger. You'll also need silicone tubing which is probably 40.00 and I'll give you the quick disconnects. You could run the pump/heating element manually or control them with a PID...

    Chugger problems

I've been running the March 809 with the Polysulfone body for 2.5 years and never had an issue it. I agree a stainless head is nice, but I would not make that a decision maker when buying a pump. I also have a stainless chugger and its failed for the last 4 brew sessions which is why another...

Is it Necessary to bake your Plate Chiller

I bake mine before every brew session. Call me paranoid, but better safe then sorry. Usually while I'm mashing I'll throw it in the oven at 400 for 40 minutes, let it cool, and then run starsan through it. Never had an issue.

3 Tier Brew Stand for Sale

Selling my old brew stand. I've recently built an all-eletric system like the one from theelectricbrewery.com. I had a welding company put it together for me about 2 years ago. Comes with the Bayou Classic BG14 burner and a 0-30psi adjustable regulator. Asking $250.00. Item is located in...

    Chugger problems

I have a chugger and have issues as well when it gets above 170F. I hope they get the problems figured out because they have one of the best customer service I've dealt with. That being said, I have a March 809 as well and NEVER had a single issue at any temp. Which is why I just bought another one.
