    Grapefruit IPA?

    Our local craftbrewery has a grapefruit IPA, although I think they achieve their taste through Hops alone. I'll probe the brewers this week when i get my growlers refilled. BTW it's Sunking Brewery in Indy.

    Wine Bottles?

    When I was starting out I threw a BYOB party and recommended that my friends bring their favorite Craft Brew. Netted about 100 bottles.

    Brewing when your sick

    Just make sure your drinking enough alcohol, should sterilize everything! I would say normal sanitation should be fine.

    First Brew - Thanks!

    All of the Great Fermentation kits I've brewed up have tasted outstanding. They run a good shop. Currently drinking a batch of their Deck Hand Stout which has been very tasty. They've got an all grain class coming up.

    Filtering my beer!

    How long have you let it age in the bottle? Are you being careful when you pour it into the glass? Chilling before you serve?

    Just to clarify...you included the time it took to get to a boil in your 60 minutes and chilled pretty much as soon as it hit the boil?

    Bottling Woes -- Beer successfully oxidized!

    Check where the auto siphon connects to your tube. I've had air leak there before. Fixed it with some Teflon tape.

    Wyeast smack pack

    You don't *need* to make a starter, but it's a little work for a lot of benefit. The smack packs have around 100 billion cells which is a bit on the light side even if they are all viable. Depending on the age it could be less. An average gravity wort can probably take 1.5-2 times that. Check...

    Question about my starter

    Made a starter using a smack pack last weekend and it looked identical. Has been fermenting just fine all week.
