    Wyeast London Ale Not Fermenting?

I didn't make a starter in either case and realize it is a good idea but, it is not critical. This can be debated all day I know but, I should have seen at least some sort of activity. I got them all from Midwest. The dates were well within the range that they should be. I bought them during...

    Wyeast London Ale Not Fermenting?

I had the same issue with London Ale yeast. Brewed on Monday and 72 hours later still nothing. This is the second batch I have lost in a row. Both times I used Wyeast London Ale and Wyeast Czech Pils. The first batch never ever fermented. The packs did not swell and it states on the website that...

    Eratic Mash Temps........

I have the same problem and was wondering the same thing about the heat loss in the hoses. In Lonnie's Brutus Ten 1 video I noticed that he isn't recirculating during the mash at all. At least during the clips he is not. My next brew day, I'm going to switch off my pumps during the mash to see...

Thank you. It is brewing like a charm! Thank you. I would highly suggest building this if you have the time. Best of luck. Be patient and it will pay off in the end. I am so glad I took my time with it.

    Painting a White Freezer Black

I've seen people paint their fridges and freezers with chalkboard paint (available at Homer Depot and Lowes). I plan on doing this when I get a chance. That way I can just write what I have on tap on the fridge itself.

    Can I add more water?????

I just did the same thing with a Maibock/Oktoberfest just a few minutes ago. I was listening to the Jamil Show and they said it can be done. Anyway, my beer was full of flavor, more than I wanted. Definitely a Bock. The beer was little too cloying for me. I ended up adding an entire gallon of...

    My Brutus finally done

Yeah, I had to have J-Bird make them 15.5" and it was still too small. I think 15" 5/8 would have been more appropriate. I ended up grinding the FB down to allow for silicone tubing to be wedged in. This ended up being a happy accident as there is no way channeling can be taken into effect...

Sorry for the delay in responding to you all.......... Let me know if you have any further questions. Thank very much it has been fun so far. I cannot wait to keep the brews going. Thanks John. I really like the cam locks a lot. They are 1/2 inch. I used a combination of the letters...

Mine is direct fired. I guess you could call it a Brutus 15 since my kettles are 15.5 gallons. :D I believe Lonnie's original Brutus 20 is also direct fired. I've seen some Brutus 20's that are electric as well. It all comes down to preference.

Thank you very much Sudbuster! I love this system. Brutus was the name that Lonnie Mac gave the system. I'm not 100% sure why he named it that. I think I read it somewhere at one time, but don't remember. The "hot liquor" is used during fly sparging but certainly be used to batch sparge as...

Yep they are Bayou Classic Kettles, 15.5 gallons. I have not had any issues with them so far. They are on the thin side, but the guy who TIG welded the fittings on didn't have any issues. They worked out great for me so, I'd say I am happy with them. Thank you. No problem on the questions at...

    Score! Huge SS Vessels w/?s

Night Owl, I don't think this is going to work at all..... I'll be by this weekend to pick them up ;) Seriously though I've been looking for a (cheap) hydrotherapy tub for a while now for my weekend warrior aches and pains. Do they have any more you know of?
