Ah, well try a search here on bottling with auto siphon, or something along those lines. There's more than a few hits. Most of them seem to suggest getting a bottling bucket to avoid the hassle, but there may be a gem in there for doing it right. Best wishes.

Hmm, I've never used an auto siphon before, much less tried to bottle with one. What is your equipment setup, meaning do you have a bottling bucket, etc.

I'm assuming this is an ale. So I think it would be fine early on in the fermentation where aeration, from a possibly bumpy car ride, wouldn't be as much of a factor. Heck, it may be fine later on as well, but that I'm not sure about. I guess it depends on what temps your rooms would be hitting...

Was the OG on target? I'm asking because with one extract kit I used, I found the OG to be four points higher to begin with. After fermenting, the FG was four points higher than what was stated. In that case I figured it dropped as much as it was going to and bottled with no problems.

As long as you're reaching a rolling boil, I'd say you're good. I stay on top of things when the hot break is happening, stirring and keeping the foam from covering all of the surface. Once that subsides I generally stir during other additions including hops, etc. Beyond that however, I may stir...

I agree. My first batch was nothing to write home about. I believe it was mostly due to the fact that I scarfed it down way too early. But I was happy about having made my first beer, and I was excited to keep going as well.

I see "spyware" in my future as I search for this. . . . Edited to add: I found a preview and that really wasn't what I was expecting. But it looks like it has some good actors in it.
