Good Beer Bars and/or Micro Breweries in Milwaukee Wisconsin?

Alright NBT friends I just made it back from my trip to Milwaukee and I figured I should first off thank you all for your recommendations. The trip was much faster than I thought it would be and I wasn't driving, so I was very limited to what I was able to do and drink. But here's what I ended...

Good Beer Bars and/or Micro Breweries in Milwaukee Wisconsin?

Alright HBT friends. You gave me great places when I was in AZ. Now my job is sending me to Milwaukee Wisconsin. I really only have 2 nights to find a place to drink that fine beers of that state. So where's a good place to go? Also I'd like to bring back some bottles since we can't get Bell's...

    Pliny the Younger

I was just there on Saturday. We took the trip from Reno. I thought it was hands down the best IPA I've had. The hops were spot on and the 10% wasn't super hot. I'm glad I had a chance to try it.

Places for good beer in Phoenix and Tucson?

Alright HBT friends. I just got back from AZ yesterday and because of all of your recommendations I had a great beer adventure to help break up the "business trip". We started in Phoenix and went to Four Peaks for dinner. I ordered their beer sampler to get a taste of everything. All of their...

Places for good beer in Phoenix and Tucson?

I live in Reno but will be on a trip for work next month. I'll be in Phoenix and Tucson AZ for 3-4 days and I'm wondering if there are any good microbreweries and/or brew pubs any of my HBT friends could point out to me.

    intro to sour beers?

It fairly mild for a sour, but at least you'll get an idea if you'll like them. The Lips of Faith Sour Brown Ale is really good also, but it's a much more "in your face" sour. One of my favorites though.

    intro to sour beers?

I think DFH Festina Peche is a really easy sour to get into. I believe they call it a "session sour". From there you can try an Eric's Ale from the New Belgium Lips of Faith series.

    Brewing today!

Just cleaning up after brewing a Pilsner for my dad. He always wants his friends to try my home brew. So instead of hitting them with a Vanilla Bourbon Stout I figured he could pass these around since most of his friends are BMC drinkers.

    sealing beer bottles with wax

I want to use wax on on vanilla bourbon stout im bottling today, like how a Makers Mark bottle looks. But locally I can't get the wine wax pellets. Do you think candle wax from a craft store would work or should I just order the pellets online and wait?

Do you still secondary ferment before you keg?

Thanks for the info everyone. I think I'll keep with my secondary process for now. My beers are coming out super clear and I'd like to make sure that keeps happening.

Do you still secondary ferment before you keg?

I just got my kegging setup ready to go. I normally do a 1 week secondary before I bottle. Should I still do the same before I keg?

    Sierra Nevada Brewery Tour Tomorrow!

Well I just got home from my tour and dinner. I certainly got a lot more then the "civilian" tour. I got to see everything from the grains being cracked to the beer being bottled. They took me into the basement under the kettles and I got to try hot wort right out of the kettle. I got to go into...

    Sierra Nevada Brewery Tour Tomorrow!

So at the end of June I won a local home brew competition here Reno Nevada. It was the first competition I've entered so it really meant a lot to me. My prize was a tap handle trophy, 1lb of hops and a VIP tour and dinner at the Sierra Nevada Brewery. Tomorrow is the day, I'm pretty excited...

    Pliny the Elder trade?

Wow. Well I'm glad to see so many people are willing to trade. So let's all keep our fingers crossed that I can pick up a few cases this weekend. As soon as I get back from my trip I'll let everyone know if I scored or not. We'll take it from there.
