Danby D9604W or similar without tank and beer plumbing?

Do any of the cheaper kegerators come box only like with commercial draft boxes? I'd like to buy a few but don't want to buy a bunch of towers and tanks I'll never use. Would anyone else be interested?

Burner stand too small for keggle - possible solution

Use 90degree edges turned up or a few pieces. Generally for cheap and dirty welding a muffler shop will slop it together cheap.

    North Florida group buy?

I'm in. Don't need any kegs, but I'm looking to coordinate a pallet of malt. Either we all take whole bags, or I'll break down if paid for the time. Also, I'm trying to work a deal to get properly sized fermentation refrigerators by working with a keg box company to sell cheap boxes without...

    Brew-Magic 'Chill-Wizard

At $400 how many do you think they would sell? They aren't selling diapers or eggs. This is a finite market. How about everyone go into business making there own if they think there is such profit selling this device on a low margin instead of bitching about how a private company applies...

    Environmental Impact of Homebrewing

So start you own thread instead of hijacking this one. Besides, you'd probably get more responses and better quality ones. Not all environmentalists pay $5 for a dozen eggs from special chickens. Why not target your audience? Pot calling the kettle black.

    Environmental Impact of Homebrewing

Trying to avoid introducing noise... The OP was about environmentally friendly and conversationalist brewing techniques. You might want to do more research on the "organic" side if you think it is more environmentally friendly. It may be better for your body, but so are full-sized gas...

    Environmental Impact of Homebrewing

Compost is simply rotting garbage. Why not smell like a hippy and make a statement in your apartment? I'm sure you could just toss the spent grain out the window and yell compost at the offended passers by.

Rubber covered keg of any use?

Care to elaborate? Hopefully tap side down... :ban: You could always try and use it in leu of deposit to buy a commercial keg. A buddy of mine did that with the local haji wouldn't give him back his money... went to the big mega liquor mart and bought another keg and used that shell instead...

Rubber covered keg of any use?

Any science people know if he could just build a good fire and through legally obtained, non-encumbered keg in with the spear removed and burn off the rubber?

Rubber covered keg of any use?

Watch out for the anti-keg Nazis on here. Just saying... they have a habit of preaching their moral superiority then locking the thread. Easy way to get the last word. Make sure to use legally obtained, non-encumbered keg for all utterances or face the wrath. That said, just use your legally...

    Massive infection problem

I did this before an immersion chiller. Thermal shock is a concern with glass, but one of the four variables in determining thermal shock resiliency is material strength. In this area a glass carboy does decent. I never had an issue taking a room temp carboy and filling with 195 or so...

    Massive infection problem

Waste of sanitizer. Try a cleaner if you are going to heat sterilize.

    Coffee table legs.

    Opinions on this pot please

Exactly. Maybe the brewery should either charge the distributor a replacement cost deposit or require that any keg returned to them be bought back at deposit price. If that happened, it is a black and white issue. Right now I'm enjoying this gray area to my hearts content. I even keg in 1/6...

    Opinions on this pot please

Who owns the keg after 30 days then? One could argue that this is a whole backward fluster cluck called the three tier system...

    Opinions on this pot please

I'm not saying that I'm an angel and didn't do that for other kegs. I decided to make my first keggle when I got stuck with a hunk of stainless and figured, what did I have to loose. Busted out the recip saw one drunken night... I'm just pointing out that the whole keg deposit system and all...

Will tasting your beer before it is done carbing mess up the force carb?

About 2-3 days. Serving pressure depends on the length and size of your beer line and temperature. About 5-8 on direct draw. Anything more than about 20 and you need a beer pump for long draw. I'm assuming your a short draw with less than 8 feet of line. If so, get the narrowest ID line you...

HBT members inspired me: My Keezer Project

Didn't read about the air gap. How is it performing? I love the idea and am seriously thinking of doing my own.

HBT members inspired me: My Keezer Project

Don't mean to be a dick, but chest freezers are made by having the evaporator coil and condenser coil layered with a peace of foam between them. The condenser coil is on the outside and the surface of the exterior allows the heat to transfer to the ambient air. I'm worried that the wood...

According to wildwest450, you could just go behind any restaurant or bar with a pick-up.
