    Fusel alcohol development after dry hop?

    I brewed a PM version of BM's Centennial Blonde, and pitched Nottingham @ 64-65. It sat for 3 weeks in primary and it tasted great, I sampled it a few times. After the 3 weeks i dry hopped with 1/2oz of cascade pellet right into primary. 2 days later i pulled out the bucket along with 2 others...

    I think I'm turning into a hophead

    You just posted my story. I Never much cared for heavy hop/ bitter beer until i started brewing. Smelling and brewing with fresh hops was the catalyst more than anything. Here in CT (and Mass. for that matter) i have not been able to find Pliny either. I can however recommend Lagunitas Hop...

    Big dead wasp floating in my boiling wort!!!

    Venom is just a series of complex proteins. The heat from the boiling wort would certainly denature the proteins making them inactive. If nothing else, as posted above, the alcohol would do the same.
