    New to Eugene

Greetings- I've been following this site for a while and have gotten some great tips from you guys. I just moved from the doldrums of rural Nevada the very hoppy beer scene in Eugene. I'm looking for some others here who are brewing and tasting in Eugene. I'm aware of the Cascade Brewers...

    Flat beer problem

I was thinking about that but wouldn't bad water also effect the primary fermentation as well?

    Flat beer problem

So I've been brewing off and on for 7-8 years, extract only and bottles only. I've brewed in San Francisco, Denver, and now by Lake tahoe. Since I moved to the Nevada/tahoe area I've had a problem with flat beer. The last 4 batches consisted of Red Ale, Celebration Ale clone, Hefeweisen, and...

    GE 4.4 cubic foot fridge?

I decided to scrap that one. I'll wait it out and save my pennies for a Sanyo or pre-made kegerator. Thanks for everyone's advice.

    GE 4.4 cubic foot fridge?

Thanks for the tips. From the GE website it looks like it is one of those slide out freezer compartments so the cold air is coming from the top. I'll bring a keg to measure and check for coolant lines. If I go with a chest freezer instead, how difficult is the conversion? I have heard that...

    GE 4.4 cubic foot fridge?

Hey there. I'm SLOWLY getting closer to my kegerator as I have been waiting for the right used fridge on craigslist. A guy has a GE 4.4 cubic foot fridge for sale that I am gonna look at tomorrow. Anyone converted one of these before? I have read alot on here about Sanyo, Kenmore, and Danby...

    bottles to keg question

This may seem like a crazy question but I have recently, as many here have said, gotten tired of bottling and have recently purchased two corny kegs. I have a batch of hefeweisen that has been sitting in bottles for two months. The beer in the bottles never carbonated but tastes pretty good...

    Flat Beer Question

Yeah, I used the normal 3/4 cup sugar with 1 cup water as I always have. I used regular caps, not the twist off type. I do have the bottles in a different part of the house than where I fermented it. That could be the problem. Thanks fof the advice.

    Flat Beer Question

So I brewed a hefeweisen for the first time and all has been good from boil to fermentation to bottling. It has been sitting in bottles for almost 2 weeks now. I sampled one yesterday and it is still flat. Any ideas on what might be going on? Should I just wait longer? The taste is fine and...

    New to brewing from Denver

The guys at Brew at Home in Westminster are great. I used them exclusively when I lived there. They are very helpful and offer classes and group tastings as well. They are in the industrial park behind CB and Potts.

    Anyone in Northern Nevada/Tahoe?

Thanks, I guess that means I have to taste more of my beer for myself until then. This is a great site and I hope to learn alot.

    Is this normal?!?!?!?

I had a batch look jusdt like that. It looked strange and I was worried it had gotten moldy/oxygenated/F'd up but I went ahead and bottled it. I waited for it to mellow awhile, like 2 months and it tastes pretty good now. The lesson I learned is that it is hard to f-up beer. Bad batches may not...

    Questionable brew

July 13th I brewed a batch of Red Ale from ingredients I bought online. I was wondering while brewing if this batch would take b/c the package left on my doorstep sat in the sun all day and the ice pack to keep the yeast and hops cool was long melted. I brewed anyway and initially had nothing...
