    Stone Arrogant Bastasrd Clone

interesting... I'm eager to hear how it turns out. I think I'm going to start back on 1g batches again. I think they're just a whole bunch of fun. I used a 5 gallon rubbermaid cooler for a mash tun that worked out pretty well for 2.5 gallon batches.

    pale/wheat extract safeale 05

I have enough extra doing nothing in my fridge. I'd have to combine to get an og of at least 1.50. so, I was thnking of a pale just to use it. what should i expect with dry pale & wheat malt and an non wheat beer yeast? crap or a worthwhile experiment?

leftover extract... what do? looking for any and all suggestions

I do the occasional 1 gallon batch. it works great for me and my tiny kitchen and of course, i don't feel so guilty wasting things. Here's what I've got: Safeale 05 1# wheat malt extract that I do not know how old it is. I would say 1.5 months 1/2# fresh dry wheat malt 1/2# fresh dry...

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

duh, have nothing but children of bodom play in the background while mashing lol, yeah, I meant a metal mash tun. But after looking around, BiAB has to be the best way.

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

Just started doing it this way myself. There's an allure to washing yeast, bottling 10 bottles or so (or using this nifty little 5L keg I just bought). The time spent is so much more appropriate for a lazy bastard like me. I'll gladly brew bigger batches if I make something I like. I'm excited...

    Mississippi Roll Call

Yea, the guys at Brewhaha are great! I really enjoy their store. I wish they had a wider selection of malts, but I think they're doing it right by not stocking everything under the sun- yet. Besides, what they don't have, they'll get for you. I haven't bought anything from anywhere else since...

    Frustrated with AG....

well, I won't really know for a few weeks. but, my concern is that I was under the impression I'll get some bad tannins in the beer once it boils. If I'm wrong on that, that's great news. On a side note, I got some friends together this weekend to help brew a couple porters... holding...

I haven't tried to vorlauf that much. That is an option

    Frustrated with AG....

I'm tempted to use the bazooka tube again. I like the concept of using a false bottom, but I'm beginning to think it's not the best choice for me.

    Frustrated with AG....

I was looking for a couple quick suggestions as I'm getting frustrated with AG. I have done AG a few years back in a 10g cooler and I never finished that beer due to a move. I just got back into it, very much so (8 batches brewed since mid November) and at this point I can't seem to figure out...

    Leftover Hops Amber Ale

Personally I don't think you can go wrong mixing the C hops. Simcoe has never worked out for me, but it looks like you'll have a hoppy amber ale.

    Wlp002

thanks. mr malty will come in very handy. We've been pretty lucky so far, but have had some issues on our last few batches with higher OG's. This is probably the cause. THANKS!

    Wlp002

I have a starting gravity of 1.094 and according to beer tools (yes, I know I can't always rely on it) and it said it would bring down the final G to 1.021. I was wondering with a gravity that high, would I need to pitch another vial of yeast or would I be cool with one vial of WPL002 and...

    Recipe development

It sounds like you and I are in the same boat. I've been using beertools.com, but it doesn't add in the late malt extract addition. But I have tried the recipe generator and haven't tried any from that. I have so many hops, I need to do this.
