Did I kill my yeast, or is it dormant

Newbie, bottled my first batch/AG batch and put it in the fridge to carbonate for 2 weeks. A day later my homebrew buddy told me I was supposed to leave it out to carbonate for the 2 weeks. Basically, after bottling and priming I put the beer in a fridge for 24 hours then took it out at...

    Phil Mill- What setting?

I have never crushed my own grain and was recently given a Philmill. I have read information on gap settings, but I believe the Philmill is set up different. There really is no way I can figure out to measure the gap. How do I know if my crush is right? THANKS! :mug:

    buy new hops?

My first year as well. I think there is no reason to worry, just keep watering. It seems its been pretty cold for you. I averaged about 60 degrees and it took my chinook 4 weeks to pop up. I say as long as they looked healthy when you put em in, they'll all pop up.

    Batting .500?

Agreed, this is my first season. Planted Cascade, Chinook, and Northern Brewer on 4/1/2010. Cascade came up on 4/10, Northern Brewer on 4/16, and haven't seen Chinook. Only one bine on each. I'm not worried.

Thanks for the insite. Now I'm tryinig to figure out if i could run a rope up the post and run the rope around the top. Create the effect of it being on the wood, but having it on the rope. I know it would be alot of training.

    Grow hops over a pergola?

Enjoyed reading this. I have had plans since last year to build a pergola over a small patio set. I bought 2 Cascade, 2 Northern Brewers, and 2 Chinnook. Nearly the same as you. I plan on doing just two types on my pergola and I have to figure out if I want to put up a rope elsewhere for the...
