I might have a job in Pensacola, FL....

But I have only been there once. I would probably live in Gulf Breeze or Navarre if I moved there. Anyone from there have any info for me? I would be working at Whiting Field in Milton but I dont mind a drive to live on the beach. Any info would be awesome

There is a Homebrew Competition coming up in a few weeks that I was wanting to enter my beer in. I was reading through the rules and noticed that the beer had to have an OG of 1.0666 or higher. I brewed and american pale ale and while I didnt take a reading, I know it couldnt have been that...

    SMaSH for learning hop characteristics

I am at the point where I want to start making my own unique brews. I was wanting to know, for the sake of learning different hops, if there is a grain that would be best for highlighting the hops? I want to buy the grain in bulk then just try different hop additions so that I get more of an...

Got some Hallertau and I want to use it.

I am going to be brewing AHS Texas Blonde Ale when I'm done with the one boiling right now. I have 1oz of Hallertau hops that are vacuum sealed and have been in my freezer for about a year. I was thinking about throwing them in this recipe: 5lb extra pale ale LME, 1lb corn LME, 1oz Brewers...

How does mash temp change flavor?

I decided to do a mini-mini mash with the steeping grains I got from my AHS kit and the temp during the mash was at about 165 for 5 or 6min. I was just curious how different temps affect the flavor of the final product? I AM NOT WORRIED ABOUT RUINING THE BEER! Just thought I would throw that in.

    Steeping grains

I just went through Deathbrewers partial mash how-to and it seems a lot easier than I thought. I already ordered extract kits from AHS so a partial mash will happen next batch. One of the kits however came with 1lb of steeping grains. I was wondering if I could apply the same partial mash steps...
