Mini fridge conversion to corny kegerator?

I'm giving serious consideration to taking the kegerator plunge. I've done mountains of searching on the forum and it seems clear that the Sanyo 4912M was the preferred fridge of choice for conversion. Unfortunately, as we are all too well aware, that most perfect of fridges has been...

Good quality and Cheap Extract kits

I also buy all of mine from Midwest Supplies. They have never let me down. After I made my first batch and my friends thought it tasted great I pretty much became a lifetime customer.

    5 days, no fermentation

I arrived home tonight and had the hydrometer at the ready. I went into the brewing facility (closet) and found that my airlock is going crazy. Apparently fermentation has really picked up, so I've decided to forego the hydrometer reading this evening at just let this whole scenario play out...

    5 days, no fermentation

Thanks to you both. I'll post an update this evening, complete with gravity readings.

    5 days, no fermentation

I don't have the gravity off the top of my head (at work), but I do know that it was consistent with what the kit said it should be. I have not taken another reading yet, my plan was to do that this evening. I used Munton's dry yeast. I rehydrated it before adding it, but did not make a starter...

    5 days, no fermentation

Revvy, If not the yeast, then what is causing my Irish Stout not to ferment? I literally am at a loss for why my wort is just sitting there staring at me like I'm a moron. I believe I did everything correctly. I'm using a partial extract kit. Temps were good. Do you, or anyone, have any...

    Frozen Yeast

Is it possible for dry yeast to freeze and die? I recently bought two kits. I have brewed one and rehydrated my dry yeast and pitched it. Over 48 hours later no signs of fermentation. So I opened a second pack of Munton's rehydrated it and added it (thinking that perhaps the first pack was bunk...

    Rate my Doghouse Brewery Logo

I probably vote for the second as well. I REALLY like the font on the third one, but I suppose it is a little hard to read. Could you reduce the thickness slightly while maintaining the size? If so, I might prefer the third. Nice work!

How much airlock activity is the norm

Should I be concerned when the airlock has quit bubbling after approximately 48 hours? I've, of course, read that absence of airlock activity doesn't indicate that fermentation has stopped. I'd say it bubbles maybe once a minute at the moment. Clearly I'm a newbie...brewing the Big Ben Pale Ale...

Wyeast Propagator - How Long After Activated?

Excellent. Thanks for the advice. I'm assuming I just add that mixture to the fermenter as I would normally just add yeast alone?

Wyeast Propagator - How Long After Activated?

Could anyone provide me with some insight on how to make a starter from LME? I too inadvertently bought the Propagator instead of the Activator (suppose I didn't realize the difference). I'm hoping to brew this weekend. No LHBS to run to, unfortunately. Ordered all my stuff from Midwest...
