    Control panel wiring help

No kidding, I am a industrial electrician but I'm not sure what your wanting. If you list what you have and what you want it to do I am sure I can help you out. From what I see you have some solid state relays and some single pole single throw switches. The switches shouldn't have a netral...

My inlaws think I'm a drunk

I used to worry about what others thought about me. Then I realized that I really didn't care what they thought. I have been much happier since. Most of my family is southern baptist so this has created many interesting discusions. The best argument I heard was that god to place things...

    Ever built a still?

According to the "Missouri department of alcohol and tobacco control" it is legal to produce 200 gallons of beer, wine, or spirtous liquor per household per year. Specifically asked if that included "Moonshine" and the answer was yes.

    What is whiskey?

Whiskey is kinda of a generic term as well. Bourban has to be made from 51% corn mash or more, aged in charred oak barrels, and produced in the US. The best bourbans are produced in the west Tennessee and Kentucky area do to the fact that the water table contains high levels of calcium and low...

    Sparge Volume and Temp

Ditto Mikey, It is not difficult at all. If you really want to take it to a higher level and get everything out of your mash then try a Brix scale Refractometer. Easy to sample the runnings so you don't oversparge.

pitching when package is still flat?

I much prefer Whitelabs over Wyeast. I don't use starters with WL and always get great results. One of the few times I used that smack pack I did the same thing you did and had no activity after 2 days so I pitched an old tube WL and had bubbles in about 4 hours. Hope for the best, but you...

    Electric Controller

Well let me say that this is very vague... I'm not really sure what you mean by updating to all electric?? Is this referring to a heating element?? If so a PID controller would work in this situation. I personally use a Red Lion controler to control my fermentation temps. It should work an...

    Secondary in Corny's??

Thanks DAAB and David, The input is is very helpful. The biggest question about the whole process is.... When you push beer into the secondary do you let it rest for a certain time and then add sugar for the cask conditioning or hope for the conditioning during the secondary??? To me...

    Secondary in Corny's??

I've tried searching this topic but with no results. I have heard of people doing this in the before but I never go that much info on it. My plan is to start racking beer into my corny's as a secondary. I can let them sit there until it is time for the fridge and then pressurize them and...

    Top 5 obscure albums

Check again, Dave Coe is there, I did forget the Porter Wagner though. I don't have much of him in my library which is probably the cause of the oversight. Another name that I left off that kinda upset me was Johnny Paycheck.

While I was stationed in Germany, A right of passage for newbies to the post was a shot of "Rasbutin" It was suppose to be Garlic Liqouer. It would strip chrome off a bumper.... The taste was the nastiest thing I have ever consumed

    Everyone is against me!

Why would you not put a lid on your boil??? I do it all the time. It helps cut down on the amount of boil off plus it helps me regulate my temp and use less gas. Just curious???
