Morebeer Pliny The Elder Instructions Confusion

Did you end up getting a full five gallons out of the fermenter? Seems like I am going to lose a lot.

Morebeer Pliny The Elder Instructions Confusion

I just brewed this yesterday. A crazy amount of hops. Does anyone filter the hops or screen them before bottling? Or do they pretty much sink to the bottom of the fermentor and you siphon of the top?

    Fermenting at 50 degess

I just don't have to equipment to lower the tempature to 40 degrees after the fermentation. That's why I want to stay away from a larger. The. CA common uses a larger yeast, but it doesn't need to be brought down to 40 degrees after the fermentation.

    Fermenting at 50 degess

I am looking for a beer and yeast that I can ferment at 50 degrees. I am on travel for work often and do not keep the house at a constant temperature. But my basement is always about 50 degrees. Besides a California common, I haven't found anything else I can ferment at that temperature. I do...

1 gallon all grain setups from AHS

One of the reasons for the small kit is I spend a lot of my time at a condo that I travel to for work. I don't want or have room to cart all my brew stuff back and forth. I saw the one gallon brews setup and figured it was best for the condo brewing. I have watched a few videos on youtube and...

1 gallon all grain setups from AHS

Has anyone tried the 1 gallon all-grain kits from Austin Homebrew? I have a bunch on extract brewing experiance, but never have done all grain. I think this would be a good start to get into all grain. I was looking for sample instructions on the site but couldn't find any. I don't this this...

    2010 Hops Gardens

I would love it more if my hops came up. I planted them April 11 and they still haven't come up yet. I am getting impatient. I am watering them every other day. Hopefully they will come up soon. Anyone in the Boston / Providence area have their hops break ground yet?

Thanks, I didn't even bother looking at the bag instructions. Stupid... I read the instruction sheet 5 times trying to figure it out.

AHS American IPA I - when to add BrewVint Yeast Fuel?

I am going to brew my AHS American IPA I in a few days. I bought the BrewVint Yeast Fuel, along with the White Lab California Ale V051. When do I add the yeast fuel? I can't find it any where in the instructions.

    removing stopper from primary

I actually used a carriage bolt (sanitized of course) to pry it out. I am going to leave more hanging out next time. And I may have to order a larger stopped. I am using the one that came with my kit.

    removing stopper from primary

I am going to rack to the secondary, but I can not get the stopper from my blow off tube out of the primary. I tried using the back of a spoon, everything and I can not put it out. Any tips? I should mention I am using a better bottle and a rubber stopped. Thanks

    blow off tube / airlock

I am going to brew a 5 gallon extract batch and place it in my 6.5 gallon better bottle carboy. I will use a blow off tube. I usually switch to a airlock about a week into the fermentation. I won't be around to switch out the blow off tube to and airlock. Is it OK to leave the blow off tube...
