I dont think you can weld SS to copper anyways. You could always go with a shell and tube design too.

So out of curriosity, why are you doing a coil of ss? I mean if your going to weld the tubing in place why not just do verticle tubes with u joints linking them in a chain?

Depends on what your definition of reasonable is.. $800 - $1200. What kind of wattage are we talking about? a 5kW will run around 800, 6.5 ~$1200. Plus if your power ever goes out its nice to know you can still brew ;)

Its goofy but i make test batches and store them in 1 & 2 Liter pop bottles. Works Great. Just get some gourmets and drill out the cap, and plug your air lock on there. 2.5 gal would get you 5 - 2 liters to play with. just be careful and dont squeeze the bottles too hard, else you'll have a mess.

If Your a DIY kinda guy, you could hookup a IR photo-tansistor and an aurdino to build one.. Then you could add a thermo couple and burner controller...

Also For a GFI to be effective it needs to be the first outlet on your entire rig, So you will basicly have your plug -> GFI -> Other electric equipment. Dont forget to hookup the green ground wires as well, or the GFI wont work correctly. The GFI will basicly trip when too much current is...

I suggest the use of valves used for funraces. you will need a LP conversion kit, but they work well. Mine work on 24Vac so i need a low volt transformer, but it works.
