I was trying to make a similar beer and used 1 lb of crystal 60, but mine came out too sweet. I will drop down to 1/2 lb next time. Just curious - why use US-04 instead of US-05? I've never used 04, but I have used 05 and it is a very clean yeast. Isn't 04 the British ale yeast?

It looks more like a stout than a brown ale. I just made a roasty american brown that had 6 ounces of chocolate malt and 1 ounce of roasted barley and it's very dark and roasty.

I've had their Mission St. beers, which are brewed by Firestone exclusively for TJ. They were solid. The APA is probably closer to a blonde and the IPA is really an APA, but they are good beers for the price.
