    Fermentation question...

    thanks! i had a panic moment sunday night when i saw the blown airlock....this being my first batch I wasn't sure what to be watching for.....

    Fermentation question...

    so i am brewing my first batch, it's supposed to very hoppy, my OG was 1.074 and I used a starter. about 18 hours into the fermentation the cap of my airlock blew and foam was slowly oozing out. I switched the airlock and connected a blow-off tube and everything seems to be working properly...

    you can use your grill as a smoker if you need it....cook with indirect heat, soak a bunch of wood chips in water for 30 minutes, then put them in a foil pouch, poke a bunch of holes in the foil and throw that directly on your burners on one side of the grill, then put your peppers on the other...

    thanks for the links! i will check those out. I know GF has a ton of stuff, but I'm not interested in paying $300 for a brew pot, mine doesn't have to be that fancy. i've noticed the ton of info and threads.....it's all very exciting really :-) thanks again!

    hello people! my buddy and i have brewed a few batches together, but he was always the lead on them and he moved to Colorado yesterday, so I need support!! He did leave me with his kegerator, 2 5 gallon kegs, and a majority of the equipment. I do need to get a 10 gallon brew pot...
