    first batch in bottles :)

Got my first batch in the dark closet in the basement. Is 68 okay for conditioning? It seemed a little thin, but have read it will continue to change in the bottle, and not sure my mouth is used to beer without carbonation (Oatmeal Stout SG 1.045 FG 1.018) I also read a lot of brewers had...

It's been...

    second batch

My first batch (oatmeal stout) is in the secondary...so I thought I would try not racking this batch and let it go 3-4 weeks in the primary. Wife is wondering what I'm going to do with 100+ beers :)

    Fermentation started... then just stopped

i'm in the exact same spot as you on my first batch of oatmeal stout (SG 1.045). I also used dry Muntons yeast ( I did however did hydrate it). I'm also stuck at 1.020. I've read several posts which tell you to swirl your bucket to try to re-suspend the yeast...I have'nt done anything yet...

    FG Question

midwest extract kit: oatmeal stout w/steeping grains and dry yeast. It's my first batch and was concerned since the recipe stated that it should hit a FG of 1.012-1.014... I will let it sit :)

    FG Question

What happens if you don't hit your FG? Stout seems to have stalled at 1.020 (SG 1.045)
