    Bottles over-carbed?

Based on the taste and the 'gushers and bombs' I'm gonna have to agree. Thanks for that info..next year I'll be trying Oktoberfest again! I guess 4 out of my 5 first beers isn't bad! Amber Ale :rockin: Fat Tire Clone :drunk: Nut Brown Ale :mug: Oktoberfest :( Cream Ale :rockin:

    Bottles over-carbed?

Thanks all for your quick responses..to answer your questions 1) Beer was at final gravity-sat in secondary for 2 months. 2) priming sugar was 4 ounces for a 5 gallon batch..on a side note-the beer didn't taste that good, can an infection over carb it? It's hard to describe the taste-but it...

    Bottles over-carbed?

I'm pretty sure I know this answer, but I'm not sure how it came to be. I bottled some Oktoberfest over a month ago, using the basic process of adding the packet of dissolved priming sugar that comes in kits. Problem is, absolutely all of my bottles would shoot foam (almost the consistency...

    keg priming & sediment??

From what I understand, once you tap your keg for the first time, all of that sediment should come out in your first pint. Dump that down the drain and the rest should be clear!

    new to kegging (carbonating/conditioning question)

As a piggyback question to this, how exactly do you prime a keg? I really like that idea instead of having them on the CO2, ultimately because it will save money and CO2.

    tap handles

Does anyone know where I can get tap handles with business card-like slots that I can put my label in for a certain beer? Thanks!

    Might be leaking CO2?

I think I may know the answer to this question, but I'll post it in here anyway to see if anyone had the same issue: 2 nights ago I hooked up my new co2 system just to one corny. I first hit my tank with 20 psi and saw some beer coming out of the 'out' because I didnt' hook it up to my tap...

Anyone else's CO2 leaking out due to cold fridge?

hey thanks for the info guys, i was about to come on here with the same question. I put my co2 in the fridge last night on 10 psi and it was at 800. This morning I woke up and it was just barely touching the red (time to fill up) line. I was like NOOOOO!!! Now I see it is due to the temp in...

    Another new question regarding sanitization.

Hello all, I bought a spray wand for cleaning carboys, but unfortunately I dont have a utility sink to use it on. Is it possible to somehow connect to my kitchen sink faucet or hose? Does everyone here have a utility sink with a hose connector? If not, what do you do to clean carboys and...

    Storing a fully carbed keg?

is it alright to pressurize a keg at 40 psi for 2 days to force carb then immediately drop it down to serving psi at 8 psi and serve later?

What do I need for kegging!?

Yeah, I think I will just get a 3# and keep it for a backup. I don't even want to know what it feels like to go to drink beer and be out of co2. ahhhhhh! So to wrap up, I will need a 5# tank with a 3 way splitter, and I can just force carbonate it in the fridge for 2 days or so, and then drop...

What do I need for kegging!?

Wow, that would definitely save some dough, but I wasn't sure if it could be done that way. How long do you think the 5 lb would last if I'm running 3 kegs on it at all times?
  18. ahitz3

What do I need for kegging!?

Ok, so instead of a two step process, I would just do one step by force carbing the 3 kegs, and then after a few days just drop the psi to be able to serve?

What do I need for kegging!?

Hello, I am new to brewing and kegging so I am asking you vets to help me compile a list of what I will need on the gas side of things. First let me start off by telling you what I already have: Fridge with 3 taps, 3 cornelius kegs, and of course beer. Now I think I will need a 5 lb co2 tank...
