Hey, long time no post/brew. Been busy with other projects! Im allmost ready to bottle a kit brewed stout (Irish Velvet Stout). However ive hit a snag. The instructions on the back of the can dont mention anything about adding a spoon of sugar to each bottle before capping. However the...

Regarding the 12 weeks to condition: Depending on your water it may take longer. Ive had mine in the bottle for about 15 weeks. I had one a month ago, little sour. Had one last Tuesday, much better but still getting there. Enjoy!

    Emergency Bottleing Crisis!!! Help!!!

Hey all again. I recently bottled a quiet expensive kit beer (cost me 80GBP to get it here) and 2/3 of the bottles are Budweiser Budvar bottles. The caps arent holding the pressure on these bottles and are leaking and venting the gas. The other 1/3 of the bottles are Baltika bottles and they...

Not very experienced myself (why i havnt posted anywhere yet except the beginners forum :) ) but id say leave it in the bottle and forget about it for another few weeks, and get your next brew going! Alot of the older heads here will tell you that the best bottle is the last one from a batch IE...

Wife's reaction to new brewing hobby?

One of the upsides of Irish women is that most of them like beer! Or cider! Ill experiment with chatting people up by telling them i brew my own :L XD Welcome and good luck brewing!

Just chilled and drank my first....

Nope havnt tried Caffery's Irish Cream Ale, funnily enough its easier to find ales and beers like Kinsale red ale, Caffery's Irish Cream Ale and Smithwicks abroad than where they are suposadly brewed :P Allthough i do live 10 miles from Kinsale and can vouch it is in a few pubs down there :D...

Just chilled and drank my first....

Ok so i just chilled and drank my first homebrew. Its from a Coopers Kit and is quiet nice! Smells a little like cider for some reason and is perhaps a bit too fizzy (Didnt bubble over when i opened the bottle but feels a bit like champagne in the mouth). That was one of 3 bottles i...
