    Unattended Hops

    i'm in southern indiana and last year we had to do quite a bit of watering. this year the rain has been plentiful, but with august coming up, we'll get back to it. being an hour away, i would think could be a potential problem.

    i think our second year cascades may in the same situation. they're starting to turn a little brown and the lupulin inside is very fragrant! what about freezing them so that they can be brewed as a wet hop later?

    bats rock! we have several around here and i believe that is the reason we don't have a severe bug problem....knock on wood!

    i would think that local breweries would be interested in local hops! that's what we're doing here in indiana. we are also looking for a place to test the aa as well....if you hear anything, please share!

    i live in southern indiana and have a second year crop going. is there anyone else growing hops in this area that has any advice? some of mine are browning just a bit and i'm thinking of harvesting a little earlier this year and look for a second harvest later. all of this is so new and fun!

    Alpha Acid Testing

    my husband and i are new growers and are in our second year of growing several different strands of hops in the ohio valley. just found this wonderful site today!! is there anyone out there who can help with knowing who to send hops to for laboratory analysis of the alpha acid content??
