    Yeah thats what I did I racked 3 inches in then poured the sugar. Then racked the rest on top. I think it should be fine.

    I poured about 3 inches in the bottom of bottling bucket of beer. Then poured the sugar... And dumped the rest of the beer on top of it... And was stirring it with the siphon hose.

    I just realized when I primed my brew... I just poured the corn sugar straight in, without dissolving in water... Am I screwed?

    Its a honey porter. 3/4 cup corn sugar for 5 gallon batch. Shoudn't open it tommorow or monday?

    When I racked my beer into secondary, the primary has a weird odor coming from it. It smells like beer but it is really strong, and sort of nauseating. I am just guessing it was because all of the ingredients and such sat in there and did whatever... The beer itself smells alright. IS this normal?

    A few questions about bottling and priming.

    I racked into secondary last night. Going to give 2 weeks. Then when I rack into bottling bucket... I pour the 3/4 corn sugar in... Then rack the beer. Then stir? Also how will I know/avoid bursting bottles?

    Its a honey porter, extract kit from midwest supplies. How long should I leave in secondary since i switched after 4 days? 2 weeks still?

    too late. I just racked! It smells pretty good, and cleared up alot. Krausen was totally gone. I think it just fermented really quick, maybe alot of un-fermentable sugars. How long should I leave in secondary?

    OK. Fermenting for 3 days. Original gravity reading was 60. Fermentation stopped this morning. Gravity reading was 20. Should I rack to secondary?

    I took my airlock out to check for fermentation. There is a big brown ring all along the top, and krausen. This wont' effect anything will it?

    OK Man! I hope ti turns out. Im gonne be bummed though if I have to go to Mississippi to work though. They pay 500 just to go down there... 200 a week to eat on but they give you 6 dollar meals on the base, and put u up in military barricks. You get 1 dollar more an hour, and work 10 hours a day...

    NO, But there isn't any bubbling like at all... coming from the airlock. It only bubbled for liek 2 days. I did everthing how I was supposed to, and everything was sanitized.

    OK. Day two. Started bubbling the next morning after brew. It was downstairs and the temp was around 64-68... I moved it upstairs today where it is about 70. I tried not to shake it. It really isn't bubbling all that much. It's pattern is like this... 1.1.1 stop stop... 1.1.1 It bubbles in...
