I made a mini version. This was my prototype...now made with stainless fittings. the center is 1.25 inch tubing..holds about 2 oz of wet hops. i wanted to do a filter but space and the amount of hops drove me away. works well for my use. it is inline on my picnic tap.

i see no problems. Very interesting idea. Does the lid make a seal to the keg top? I have a 1/4 keg that i was going to use as a fermenter, but dont like the idea of cleaning through a 2 inch hole. this might be my solution, if you dont mind me stealing your thoughts LOL

that red section is about useless. if you are in the red, you are out of liquid CO2, and are running on what vapor is left in the tank. the best way to know what is left is to weigh your empty tank, and check your tank now and then. Co2 will vary with temperature. my tank in the fridge...
