Witbier Blue Balls Belgian Wit (Blue Moon Clone)

I just tapped this one (brewed on April 29) and boy does it taste nice. Still a little flat (I'll take it off line for about a week at this point) but nice. Really cloudy though. I know it's a wheat beer, and it is supposed to have haze, but wow is it ever cloudy.

    how do I "can" wort?

I'm fairly sure you need a pressure cooker to can wort. I haven't done it, but I'd be super cautious myself. Botulism's a *****.

    Worst decision ever

Seriously, that sucks. I can't brew without inspiration of some sort (home brew preferably). Good for you though, major dedication as far as I'm concerned.

Tips on keeping the Mrs. happy

I schedule brew days up to a month ahead in her calendar, and take our oldest child outside with me. Everyone wins. The boy plays "trucks", the wife gets a bit of a break, and I get a brew.

    Do i Need A Mash Paddle ?

Greetings fellow Canuck! I've been doing AG for about 6 months now, and quickly realized I wanted a paddle to break up the dough balls and give my mash a good stir. You can male do with a big spoon, but I much prefer a paddle. I just bought a cheap canoe paddle from Canadian Tire, sanded off the...

American IPA Bee Cave Brewery IPA

I'm going to brew this on Sunday, but I'm probably going to dryhop with amarillo, and possibly try out some Denny's 50 rather than 1056. I did it to spec last time (and it was awesome) but I think it may be experimental time!

    Double IPA Pliny The Bastid

So I brewed this a week ago, and everything went well. Hit the mash temps perfectly, and nailed the OG. I just checked it last night and it's sitting at 1.009! Oops. Hungry little yeasties. It tastes spectacular though, I can't wait until it's done! I'm going to leave it in the carboy for 2...

American IPA Bee Cave Brewery IPA

Ok, so I've got this on tap and it is awesome! I've picked up the specialty grains I need to make this again, but was thinking of using citra for the dry-hop addition. Thoughts? Anyone tried that?

He he. I read that title and thought "stop bragging!"

Manifold for coleman cooler mash tun

Here's my copper manifold. It works fine (75% efficiency). I didn't solder anything, just press fit and squeeze with pliers. It makes it easier to clean and adjust, and does not come apart. Oh, and the slots on face down in actual production mode, I had just pressed it together in this shot .:)...

I am on day 5 of Beer Fast.

Talk about emotional roller-coaster. At first, I assumed you were on day 5 of beer FEST, and were too hammered to spell. Then I thought: "wait, NOOOO!" Then I read your OP, and realized "Yesssss!"

    *sigh* Divorce advice please?

Agreed. Unless you're cool with the discussion showing up in court/police files, don't have it online. I assume your ex knows your online persona?

Ever had one of "Those" brew days?

Exactly. She'd pretty much "have" to.

Ever had one of "Those" brew days?

I'll second that. I could have a severed leg, and if the wife said she was game, I could probably rationalize a diversion on the way to emergency. It'd keep the blood centralized away from the wound. :) Frankly, I'd keep it in mind to sever the other one if it "worked" for her.

    Zombie Invasion

Exactly my thoughts. Step one - guns/machetes Step two - select microbrewery with steady access to clean water (well preferred). Step three - transform brewery into armed compound. Step four - transform brewery trucks into armed tanks. Step five - raid nearby breweries for grain and hops...

Beer to celebrate birth of my new baby.

My SWIMBO is expecting any day now. I brewed up a low gravity lactation beer. I found out that brewers yeast, hops, oats etc are all lactation aids (or galactagauges). As is fenugreek, which Mosher recommends to add maple syrup flavour. So I created the Galactagrog! It tastes quite good...
