    Hard Lemonade

Well...two weeks later this batch has only gone down to 1.018. It tastes pretty good. Any harm in bottling it?

    Hard Lemonade

Well... longer to ferment, but on the other hand it's almost ready to drink right away after that. So...all in all, much quicker actually.

    Hard Lemonade

Oh...Ok! I guess I'll relax then. My other batches were done by now, so I thought my yeasties were dead or something. Have you started a limeade yet Larry?

    Hard Lemonade

Well, I've yet another hard lemonade on the go. Up till now I've had great success, but this latest batch seems to be stuck at 1.020 after a month and a few days in the secondary. Any advice as to what I maybe should do? Istill can actually see a few bubbles coming up, so there are still some...

    Hard Lemonade

Anyone tried this recipe with different juice variations with any success? I'm thinking pink lemonade, limeade etc. Just for the record, the recipe as is is fantastic!

    Man, I love Apfelwein

    Help! Time's running out! Anyone?!

    Apfelwein question?

It's only been 4 hours! If there's no action this time tomorrow, then maybe get a little concerned.

    Man, I love Apfelwein

Hey guys, I've got 5 gallons that's been sitting in a primary since July. I was going to bottle one of these days, but I want to get at some to make some grog for Christmas Eve. Would it be ok if I poured out what I want, put the stopper back on, and then bottle maybe boxing day or so? I'd...

    Festa Brew

I did a Festa cream ale in August. I found that it was well into October before I could enjoy it. A good 8 weeks in the bottle and it tastes pretty good. Everyone I've given one two LOVES the taste. I'm not crazy about it just cuz I'm not into cream ale. I will try to do another though. I'd like...

    Hard Lemonade

Just like to mention I am now consuming this :drunk: and it tastes fantastic! I tried some a week ago and it was still just a little too yeasty. Today I can still detect a very slight yeast taste, but other than that...awesome!! I expect in one more week there will be no yeast taste. I'm curious...

    Graff (Malty, slightly hopped cider)

Well I made this on the 12th following directions best I could for a noob. I used nottingham yeast, and Mt Hood hops. This was my first attempt at anything much more complicated than hard lemonade! All went well I think, except I found it a little tricky steeping consistently at 155 degrees. A...

Brewing the Hangover out of the Beer...

All I know is the more water I drink before crashing, the less hung I'll be the next day. I'll down as much water as I can stomach before sleep...then halfway in the night do the same. I used to get severely hungover until I discovered this.

    Hard Lemonade

Ooops...I did end up bottling it. I checked it 3 days later, and it still read 1.003. I used 3 oz corn sugar in the 3 gallon mix to carbonate. I hope that'll be ok along with the 1.003 fg?? I also did add the crystal light. Tasted quite good, so I hope it stays that way!

    Graff (Malty, slightly hopped cider)

Cool. Thanks Picobrew. So, for this recipe, just for clarity sake, I put the 60L and wheat in a bag together. Steep in the pot for 30 min....pull up the bag and pour (sparge) the 170 degree water over the bag, chuck it away and carry on? Sorry for the dumb questions, just wanna get it right.

    Graff (Malty, slightly hopped cider)

Hey.... this looks good. I'd like to try it but I'm a noob nerd. I don't know dickabout cider or beer making. The only experience I have is hard lemonade, apfelwein and wine kits. I ordered all the ingredients before looking at the steps a little closer, and realized I've never boiled anything...

    Sweetening with Crystal Light

I've got a batch of Yooper's hard lemonade that is about ready to bottle. I planned to carb and was thinking about back sweetening a little with lemonade flavored Crystal Light. Is there any reason why this might not be a good idea?

    Hard Lemonade

My batch has been hard at work now for 4 weeks. I thought I'd take a sample today to see where it's at. Tastes pretty good! Very stiff, and slightly yeasty still. It measured 1.003. Do you think I'm good to bottle now, or should I wait till its at 1.000 in probably a few days? I also got a bit...

    Man, I love Apfelwein

Well....I sampled my first batch as I bottled. Very Good. Very similar to Strongbow, just drier, and less apple taste. I expect as it gets older it will be very hard to tell the difference. I was feeling a pretty good buzz from my "sample" which I think got me lazy. I mixed my new batch right...

    Man, I love Apfelwein

I'm bottling my first batch today. I planned on starting a new one as well. What is the advantage of batching right over the old yeast cake? Just convenience? I have the new yeast, but keep reading of so many wanting to do that. I like the idea of cleaning out the carboy and starting fresh, but...
