I got my first stuck mash today. I tried blowing in the hose and cutting slits in the mash bed. Neither one worked. It has been dribbling out for about an hour and a half now. I guess I will just wait and see how it turns out. I'm making a pumpkin ale and I forgot to add a lb of rice hulls...
I'm going out of town on another snowboarding trip, so I do not think I will be working on this anytime soon. Therefore, I am releasing BrewCalc Version 1.0.2 for Windows Mobile.
I did not have time to finish the save and open functions yet, but I did get the export to html function working...

Send me some feedback. What other calculations do you want?
Post it here or send me an email at: [email protected]
P.S. Looking at my 5 empty kegs and my 3 empty fermenters makes me sad :(
I made some real progress the last couple of days. The app now has a results page. It estimates OG, color and IBUs. Im in the process of rewriting the open, save and export functions. Hopefully I will have it ready in the next couple of days.
Thanks for the feedback.
There was a bug in the abv calculator. I changed the equation to ABV = (OG-FG)*131.25.
I posted the new version (1.0.1) at http://www.thehotfire.net/brew/

Get it at: http://www.thehotfire.net/brew/

Check out The Hop Hanger at the bottom of this page...
It is the West coast pale ale. The room is about 70-75 degrees.
I went the the homebrew shop but they were out of a lot of equiptment. I plan on getting a real kit when I get back to denver in a few months. But until then Mr. Beer is all I have.
I recently got a Mr. Beer kit and started brewing a beer. I used the normal instructions but added 1/2 cup of honey. It has been in the fermenter for 8 days now. I thought it looked like it was done so I poured a shot and tasted it. It is still sweet and cloudy. Is my yeast dead? Can I...
