A coworker had submitted his information to get access to the sheet last week but hasn't heard back so I added his order to the sheet myself. (HBT name is Bigluth) I hope this is OK. His order brings us to 81 sacks.

Stocked up on a variety of British base malt and some Amber malt. We're @ 77 sacks right now.

It looks like the spreadsheet is getting a little scrambled. When you add your HBT name to the sheet, you should be adding it on Row 1, not Row 16. There are formulas that will copy the name from Row 1 to the other rows. There are a few columns on the sheet that need to be touched to fix...

So @ 42 sacks/ pallet, we're 18 sacks short of filling the second pallet. I could probably add 4 more full sacks, but I'm not going to bother unless the sheet becomes more active and we're getting close to filling the pallet.

This is perfect for me. After a few batches since the last pickup I realized I should have bought more US 2-row.

Pretty sure I need a sack or 2 of base malt. Brewed like crazy during September/October and then took a month off to focus on wine but I'm ready to get back to brewing.

Currently planning to get there around 12 to pick up and do some sampling. When are others planning to arrive/sample? My schedule is flexible

I just use a 5 gallon food grade bucket with an air tight lid. If I remember correctly, 1 of those can hold 25# of barley. They can be a waste of space if you have a smaller split though. I bottled 8 different beers from kegs last night to share. Looking forward to it!

Grabbed .25 of the Rice Hulls split. Getting ready for Pumpkin Ales! Gateway Grill sent out a txt today saying their first Pumpkin Ale came in today - Penn Pumpkin Roll. Pumpkin Ales are coming out earlier every year.

Got 2 sacks of MO, some of the Munich, and opened a CM Pilsen split because it's cheaper and that's what I've been using so far.

Where is the other price list? I only see the main group buy in google docs.

By that logic how can they distinguish between a homebrew shop and anybody else who has a business account with them? LHBSs don't have a federal brewery license so would the markup apply to them? If it did, I would expect to see a lot of stores stop selling Briess. I think there are still...

Making Traditional rice Wine. Cheap, Fun, and Different

It was $5.19 for 12.3oz of yeast balls. The bag contains multiple smaller packages, each with 2 yeast balls (this seems to be the norm). The whole bag has a net weight of 12.3 oz.

I got mine from here. They're out on McKnight. It's a pretty nice store. They have a whole isle of rice, but the yeast balls are with the baking stuff. The red yeast rice is right by the yeast balls if you're interested. When I checked out with a bag of yeast balls and sweet rice the cashier...

Making Traditional rice Wine. Cheap, Fun, and Different

If you are going to rinse the rice, aren't you supposed to soak it & rinse it before cooking? If you rinsed it after cooking and it still came out fine, it seems this rice wine is pretty forgiving. Doesn't seem to matter if you steam it or boil it and probably doesn't matter if you soak it or...

Making Traditional rice Wine. Cheap, Fun, and Different

Right now I have Sushi, Sweet, and Jasmine rice, 2 bags of yeast balls, 1 bag of red yeast rice, and (4) 1 gallon jars. I hope to pick up Basmati rice tomorrow and do 4 different batches with just the yeast balls, compare, then experiment with the red yeast rice later. Possibly try different...
