DFH 90 and 120, I leave it for those who enjoy it.

When I first got into craft beer (which wasn't even that long ago, less than a year), I hated IPAs. I considered myself the opposite of a hop head. I was (and still am!) a huge stout fan. The thicker and darker a beer is, the better. Now though, I find myself seeking out different IPAs...

    So who's brewing this weekend?

I plan on bottling an IPA that I've been putting off for a while. I'm new to all of this, I like brewing, but holy **** do I hate some parts of it. Bottling is a pain, but not as bad as I was expecting. I just really, really hate cleaning. Oh god, do I hate cleaning. I've almost considered...

    Anyone Snus?

I just started a week ago. Been cigarette free for a few days now and I already I breathe better. It's pretty amazing stuff. I still get minor cigarette urges, but they're quickly satiated after a minute or two of having snus under my upper lip. And I'm not talking about the mediocre Camel...

What styles can you not drink?

I've only had one smoked beer in my life. I can't even remember what it was called, but it was rated fairly high on BA/RB as far as smoked beers went. I can honestly say that is the only beer style I've ever encountered that I wouldn't be willing to try again. It became a little more...

    Average Drinking.....

Usually have 2-4 on nights that I'm off (I work 12 hour shifts, so I only work 3 days a week). When I go out, I switch to Bud Light (BMC is about all there is for selection in local bars) and can finish off 10 - 20 of them.

How many gallons of homebrew in 2009?

As someone who has homebrewed for only 2 1/2 weeks.. 12.5 gallons. 5 gallons of an IPA and a Trappist (partial grain) and a 2.5 gallon Mr. Beer extract kit IPA

    No bubbling on my Airlocks!

You fail to mention how long they've been fermenting.

Mr Beer - Read all about it and ask questions

So I used Mr. Beer for the first time. I'm still new to this hobby, but I had another bag of yeast sitting around (Safbrew t-58?). I'm assuming it was intended for a 5 gallon batch, since it came with a 5 gallon recipe kit. Did I screw things up by adding the full bag to the Mr. Beer kit...

Holy Crap I've got a lot to learn!!

So I just made my first two attempts at brewing over the last couple days. I had picked up a Mr. Beer from Woot.com and a "real" kit from Midwest Supplies (Intermediate kit). I came to this forum, I picked up "How to Brew" by Palmer. And it all seems so complicated. The sheer amount of...

    What an overwhelming hobby.

Huh, I clicked the "Prost this thread!" button. I don't know what that does. Anyway. Like I said, I ordered a Mr. Beer from Woot. It arrived today. The spigot was missing the nut, so I had no way of making it water tight. Hugely disappointed as I was starting to get excited, even...

Mr Beer - Read all about it and ask questions

I also bought mine on woot. I went to set everything up, kind of excited to try it out, and hey, look at that. I'm missing the nut for the tap assembly, so it leaks.. a lot.

    What an overwhelming hobby.

First, forgive me if I ramble. I've been drinking. I always had an interest in getting into homebrewing. I decided I'd do it one day, but I didn't know when. A few days ago, as some of you may know, Woot.com offered the Mr. Beer kit for just $20. Awesome. I ordered it without much...
