    1000th Post & Westvleteren XII

Just so happens this is my 1000th post and by dumb luck my huge SCORE today. I was talking to a guy we recently hired and quickly became friends with about my beer obsession. He mentions he has a beer he's been holding onto that he got from his brother, but he wasn't really THAT into beer. So he...

Been brewing for many years, but just started up a reefing hobby (and you thought brewing gadgets got pricey) well I bought a 5 stage 75gpd RO/DI unit that I'm thinking of using to brew with also. I always send out a sample to wards every year or so and its always different results. I'm sure the...

So who's taking advantage of the rain and brewing this weekend?

If you can't ride the hog, might as well brew eh? Doing BM's Continental Blonde for an easy drinker this weekend. I will be trying out the new HERMS setup I finished last night for the first time. No PID controllers or anything fancy, just a way to circulate mash and maintain temps in the cooler...

    Bending SS tubing coil

Anyone have a proven method to share? Search's have turned up very little and I've already jacked up the first five feet of tubing trying to bend it by hand. I have a Rigid bender but its for "conduit" type tubes not the coil I have now. I tried doing it by hand as was suggested on the electric...

Honestly, how often do you take apart all those fittings for cleaning?

I'm pretty much all stainless now, Swagelok connectors for my dip tubes and HERMS coil, SS dip tubes, SS 3 pc ball valves, etc. Currently I'm taking apart all the connections after each brew and soaking in PBW. I kind of enjoy it, its fun and I have a large work shop to do it in. I'm just now...

The cost of our hobby, dang dawg!

Have you ever noticed you look at the price of a Blichmann (Blingmann) brew pot and wig out at the 350+ $'s but have no problem at all dropping 400 bucks on pumps, SS fittings, 3 pc Ball valves, quick disconnects, and tubing? Happened to me yesterday, was looking at a Blingmann and thinking WOW...
