Nice Rig! What's that thingy on top of the pot. The thing with the 3 arms and what looks like some pvc tube. Thanks

Gelatin actually suppose to look like ... gelatin?

Stirred 1/2 teaspoon unflavored knox in 1 cup of 100 degree water. Added immediately to 6 gal of a light ale in the secondary. 24 hrs later crystal clear! Let it set for 3 days and racked to keg.

Too freaking cold here as well! Now, I like the building, tweaking part better than the actual doing. (almost!) Of course, then there's the, drinkin! Freezing in Florida.

Yea, over the years I've used all sorts of pots and pans for boiling, like everyone else has I'm sure. Finally decided to get the 'Real Deal'! I'm really looking forward to using this system. Any major issues to be aware of?

March Pump is on it's way. What size tubing do the input/outputs take? Like to get it ordered soon. I'll be chilling as well, as it's just to freakin hot here in the summertime.

    I love no sparge brewing...

Thanks! I'm in the process of acquiring the equipment for this setup. It just seems like it will suit my AG needs. Adding a 'RIMS for dummies' type heater should simplify the process even more. Tom

20 pages and no one has mentioned how the beer turned out? Anyone?

What can I expect from this American IPA hop schedule?

Yooper, would you mind elaborating on this? Thanks Tom

    Small Chest Freezer?

Are there any ramifications to setting the freezer to a higher (warmer) setting? It appears that although the controller shuts the freezer off at the required temp, the freezer continues to cool quite a bit before stabilizing

    Small Chest Freezer?

Is the probe on the Brewers Edge waterproof?

    Small Chest Freezer?

Thanks. No it's not touching the wall but it is just hanging free in the freezer. I would put it in a jug of h20 but the probe line isn't long enough in my configuration. I'll see what I can do.

    Small Chest Freezer?

Thanks, that's what I thought and I tried that first. Controller is set at 68 with 5 degree differential. Once the freezer got to 68, when I went to check it, the freezer was down to 49 degrees!

    Small Chest Freezer?

I have a new, small, chest freezer and a Brewers Edge controller. The controller worked great with my refrigerator but I'm having trouble with the new freezer. Where should I set the temp control on the freezer? All the way up or all the way down? Thanks
