    A Brewing Water Chemistry Primer

Ah, that's good to know. I kept a saltwater reef for a while and know that reef people are pretty paranoid about their water quality, so if they don't have a problem with a big rubbermaid trash can, then I feel pretty good about storing it in at least a plastic water barrel for an extra day...

    A Brewing Water Chemistry Primer

Any suggestions on storage of ro/di water prior to brewing? Since it usually takes many hours to accumulate enough water to brew, my thoughts were to make it in either a plastic water barrel or possibly a stainless steel drum the night before then pump the quantity I need over to the HLT to...

Brewhemoth conical clean in place (CIP) systems

Yeah, definitely getting pricey, but at least it looks cheaper than the freezer and all the fittings that I have to sneak into the house for these things. :)

Brewhemoth conical clean in place (CIP) systems

Good to know, that keeps me out of trouble.

Brewhemoth conical clean in place (CIP) systems

I don't doubt it cleans well and wish I knew how to calculate it, just would make evaluating which pump to buy easier. Looking on ebay, this would seem like a good buy if I knew something about the quality: 1HP Stainless Steel Jet Shallow Water Booster Pump Pressure Control Controller

Brewhemoth conical clean in place (CIP) systems

Got a question about the pump you listed. I noticed in the specs it was only rated for 18psi but most of the spray balls I've seen are supposed to need 30-60psi. Am I interpreting something wrong?

    Closed-system pressurized fermentation technique!

Main reason for the filter/water bath is to scrub beer aerosol before it gets to the valve, but I can see brewing 15-20 gallon batches at some point in the future.

    Closed-system pressurized fermentation technique!

Been following this thread for years and was hoping I could contribute something. I haven't started brewing yet but am planning out my build. Because of space limitations in the fridge after installing a brewhemoth, I wanted to make something that could fit in the fridge door and be able to...

    Brewhemoth conicals?

Anyone heard of upcoming sales for the Brewhemoth? Looks like they usually have one this time the past couple years.

    RIMS for Dummies

I think using the heat tape around a RIMs tube is brilliant and have a lot of ideas floating around for using it. My only concern would be the distance through heated pipe that the wort would travel before it got to the sensor, probably not a problem with maintaining heat but could overshoot if...

    Jaybird's Stainless False Bottoms

My thinking was to be able to drain the entire grainbed evenly. Would probably add some legs to raise it off that outer lip just enough so fluid could flow under it.

    Jaybird's Stainless False Bottoms

Jay, Not sure if you have seen this thread, but was curious how much a 19 1/4" non-hinged FB without hole for diptube would cost?

    Custom Mash Tun

Will the false bottom be 19 1/4" or 14"?

    Custom Mash Tun

I think these are awesome. I know I have talked to other people how it would be great if Rubbermaid made a 15Gallon round cooler, this is even better. Now, question is, what's the best way to set it up? I'd use a false bottom, make it 19 1/4" and put some support legs around the inside and...

F the BS! HD 5500 BK element Myth Busting

Very interested in how this turns out, but a quick question. Is this just to save some space or have less element to clean? I wouldn't think it would affect the heating rate. Watts is watts, right? Edit: Ah, sorry, didn't read this was in response to another thread.

    Cam Locks

Thanks a lot Brewmoor, that isn't bad at all, pictures make them look a lot smaller then they are. Really appreciate you taking the time to do that. Jeff

    Cam Locks

Thanks Brewmoor. I think my ideal setup would be to use Type A or Type F on the valves and bulkheads, and use Type D plus this on the 1/2" ID hoses to maintain 1/2" throughout the rig, just jam the tubing on the 5/8" hose barb, but unless I can find a better price on that 5/8" SS hose barb, I...

    Cam Locks

That is exactly what I'm thinking about doing, Bobby_M, I probably didn't state it very well. I just want to verify that the couplers and adapters other then the ones with hose barbs maintain 1/2" ID before going through the trouble of ordering a separate hose barb. Trying to maintain...
